Welcome to the community. In what ways do you need help to align?

Hello, @Genel_Diaz-Hernandez . :wave::smiley: Welcome to the community! We’re happy you’re here.

If you’re trying to align in the IdeaStudio software, you need to select all of the layers that you wish to align, then click the “Align” tool. Select the one you would like to use—horizontal/vertical, if you’re trying to center it. If you want to align more than 1 layer, you’ll need to group the elements that you wish to align. For example, if you have a bear and you want to center some words around it, top and bottom, group the text layers together, but not the bear, then select the alignment you wish to choose. You will probably want to align your text layers, at this point, as well. Do that before you group them and align them with the main element. If your bear has another element with it, you’ll need to group the bear and that element together, and the text layers separately. Then, select your alignment. If you’re unsure of which alignment to use, you can always select each one, then undo, until you have found the alignment you need.

If you’re using the mobile app, you can open the layers panel and click each layer that you would like to align, then group them. On the PC software, you just click and drag your mouse over the layers you want to group. If there’s an element that gets selected that you wish to not group with your selected layers, you can hide the layers you don’t want to group by clicking the eye, then click and drag over them, then group them. Then, click the eye to reveal the layer you wish to align with, highlight all the layers, then click “Align” and your preferred alignment choice.

I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Did @Samantha_Bryant resolve your issue with alignment? If not, could you tell us a little more about your problem and what the steps you are doing.

Hi and Welcome to the community @Genel_Diaz-Hernandez!

You’re not alone — alignment trips up a lot of us at first. Could you share a screenshot of your canvas in the IdeaStudio app so we can see which layers you’re working with? You mentioned having trouble with the iEngrave — do you mean the framing step when you’re trying to position your design?

Can you send a photo of a project from iEngrave showing an example?
I do the aligning in idea studio and don’t attach the engrave layer to a cut layer. If you mean engraving on a item it’s a but harder to get frame ink perfect I honestly try to get it the closet I can to be primed around what I want engraved on usually going for the inner part of item,

So in IdeaStudio for the engraver, is there a way to print and cut in the same design. Example write a name via engraving and then cut that name out. Hope that makes sense.

Each would be a layer one cut 1 engrave

Hi @Laura_Lynn! Yes — the iEngrave can now engrave and cut in a single task. In the sample below, I added my name as text (engrave) and then created an offset so it cuts neatly around the engraved design. Hope this helps!
