Mainly DIY chores and finishing making our conservatory dry and warm, unfortunately.
I’ve still been designing on the iPad when I’ve had a spare minute, but didn’t get near anything with a 3rd dimension. I was hoping to try a shadow box design (again) for Thankful week 2, but just didn’t get a chance.
I’ll be back in full force from next week though, as I’m almost finished with the conservatory.
It’s to thick to get under it I have to get it out more before I can do it that way I will get it. it just may take a few time of trying …. I lose muscle control in my hands pretty easily so can only grip things for so long.
Day 24!
Started working on the treat boxes today!!
I’m using a brand new cutting mat, the old one had seen better days lol, it barely had any stickiness to it
Day 30 and I have a finished Christmas waistcoat! Before I started cutting it out, I first had to make the 2.5” squares and sew them all together to make the patchwork for the front and, as usually the silky satin used for the back and lining had a mind of it’s own and would never lay still. But for all that, I’m happy with the finished garment
Today’s check-in is all about celebrating the unexpected, those unique materials we reach for that make our projects stand out far beyond the world of cardstock.
One of my personal favorites?
Wood veneer sheets.
There’s something magical about the way they blend warmth and texture with the precision of modern crafting tools. They cut beautifully, engrave like a dream, and add an instant “artisan” feel to anything you create. Whether it’s a layered ornament, a pair of machine cut earrings, a bookmark, or an elegant tag, wood veneer brings a natural charm that’s hard to beat. It’s one of those materials that makes you pause and think, “Wow… I made that?”
