Here’s my color-craft entry for Week 3!

Palette: Bold warm palette
Story: This piece holds a special place in my heart. It reminds me of my mother-in-law, who truly loved flowers—especially ones that felt full of life and sunshine, like sunflowers. While creating this, I kept thinking about her and the warmth she brought into every space.

The deep orange sky was inspired by the feeling I get when I hear “Something in the Orange”—that quiet, emotional kind of beauty that sits with you for a while. It carries both comfort and a little bit of ache, and somehow, that matched perfectly with the memory of her.

Between her love for flowers and that song, this painting just came together in a way that felt right—like it was meant to be. It really felt like it hit the nail on the head, capturing both her spirit and that feeling you can’t always put into words.

I looked up “Something in the Orange.” I’d never heard of Zach Bryan and it’s a beautiful song. What a voice!

BTW, the blue pen can be removed with a hot air gun, or holding the picture against a radiator (like I did, but don’t really recommend!)

It is a very good song and about the ink I do know that couldn’t find hair dryer thought about holding above the eye of stove lol :joy:!

Oh, no! Not the stove! Unless you want your work going up in flames. :joy:

Here’s a link to the heat gun I have. It’s very cheap and works perfectly.

Story: This little diaper cake isn’t just diapers and ribbon, it’s a circle of love that started long before baby Dexton was even dreamed of. :blue_heart:

It’s been 2 years and 8 months since we said goodbye to a man who never really knew how to be anything but present. My brother-in-law showed up, every time, in the big moments and the quiet ones too. The kind of man who didn’t need to say much, because you could feel it in the way he stood beside you.

Now his daughter is bringing his very first grandchild into this world. A baby boy he would have held with steady hands and the proudest smile.

So I made this for Dexton.

Every layer is wrapped with intention. Every detail carries a piece of remembrance. The soft blues feel like peace. The sturdy base reminds me of the strength he gave our family. And right there in the center, surrounded and held, is a promise.

Because just like he was there for me and my husband, I will be there for his grandson.

For the birthdays, the scraped knees, the laughter, the moments that matter and the ones that don’t seem like they do but really do. I will stand in that same quiet, steady way he always did.

Dexton may never meet his granddaddy here on earth, but he will grow up surrounded by the kind of love that man built.

And that love didn’t leave.
It just found a new place to live. :blue_heart:

Palette: [Baby girl and Baby boy colors]
Story: [ A friend of mine has a baby due near Mother’s Day and this is a gift for her. She has not told us the sex of the baby so I made one of each

Written as if it’s the girl I’m hoping

The nursery still smelled faintly of fresh paint and laundry detergent.

She stood in the doorway for a moment, just looking at it—the soft pink walls, the untouched books, the tiny clothes folded too neatly. A life waiting to be lived in it.

From the crib came a small, restless sound.

Her daughter.

She crossed the room and lifted her carefully, still a little in awe that she was allowed to do that—that this tiny girl belonged to her. The baby blinked up at her, unfocused, trusting anyway.

On the dresser sat a card. She hadn’t noticed it before.

Happy First Mother’s Day.

Inside, in her husband’s handwriting: She thinks you’re perfect.

She let out a quiet breath, something tight in her chest loosening just a little.

“I’m not,” she whispered, rocking gently.

The baby settled against her, warm and certain.

The nursery was still new. She was still new.

But standing there, in the soft morning light, holding her daughter for the very first Mother’s Day, she felt it begin—quiet, steady, real.

She was her mother.

Story

This shirt isn’t just colors and smiles, it’s a quiet kind of fight.

It comes from learning how to stand in grief without letting it swallow me whole. From days where my mind still wanders into heavy places, replaying loss, feeling the weight of missing people I love. Recovery didn’t erase that, it just gave me a different way to walk through it.

The smile on this shirt isn’t fake. It’s chosen.

Because I know the people I’ve lost wouldn’t want me stuck in sadness. They’d want light, laughter, and living. They’re in a better place, but down here, I’m still learning how to carry both love and loss at the same time.

Some days I struggle. Some days my thoughts get loud.
But today, I’m trying something different.

Today, I choose to smile anyway.
Today, I choose to be happy anyway.

Not because everything is okay…
but because I’m still here, still healing, still trying :mending_heart::sparkles:

Palette: One of the reasons this card feels so joyful is the way the colours work together. You’ve got a full rainbow of heart outlines — pink, yellow, green, purple, blue, and soft pastels — all sitting on a deep black background. That contrast is what makes the colors sing. Black acts like a spotlight here, letting every hue glow as if it’s lit from within.

The palette is playful but intentional. Because each heart uses a single outline instead of a filled shape, the colors feel airy and light rather than heavy or crowded. It gives the whole card a sense of movement, almost like the hearts are floating or dancing across the surface.

Story: I love contrast. I may be a girl but I’ve always been a tom boy at heart. I like blacks and whites and greys the most then I normally contrast that with bright red for my pop of color. Recently, I have been experimenting using other colors and this project I choose the rainbow of color hearts to pop. I think everything balances in this piece: bold with soft, colorful with monochrome, playful shapes with crisp lines. Comes together to make a really colorful greeting card.

Palette: Rose,pink,green,white,cream white
Story : My inspiration was to create something unique that you can’t buy anywhere. After hours of work, the alpaca pencil holder was born.
Materials used:
Luxury cardstock, 220 gsm
Double-sided foam tape
Tacky Glue
Wooden pencil holder blank

The little alpaca pen holder Luma proudly watched over all the colorful pens each day.
Whenever someone started a creative project, Luma wiggled her ears with joy.
And every time a pen dropped back into her belly, she thought:
“Something wonderful is being created today.”
