Just got my DTF printer and it won’t work. The screen on the front doesn’t work. The dongle won’t connect to the machine and I am at a loss. What more can I do? Anyone have any tips?
Hi @Melissa_McCormick welcome to the community. The DTF printer isnt available in a few regions and as a result not many of us have one. I suggest you pop on the website and schoose the country you purchased in and reach out to support directly.
Hi and welcome to the community @Melissa_McCormick! I’m so sorry you run to this situation. Here are some Guidelines for your reference only:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
1. Screen Not Powering On
If the front screen is completely unresponsive:
- Check power source: Confirm the outlet is working by plugging in another device.
- Inspect power cable and adapter: Look for frays or loose connections.
- Try a hard reset: Unplug the printer for 5 minutes, then plug it back in.
- Look for LED indicators: If any lights are on, the issue may be with the screen itself rather than full power failure.
- Open a support ticket: HTVRONT may need to replace the screen or mainboard if it’s a hardware fault.
2. Dongle Not Connecting
Assuming you’re using a USB dongle for wireless or RIP software connection:
- Try different USB ports: Some ports may not provide enough power or data throughput.
- Check for driver installation: Go to your computer’s Device Manager and see if the dongle is recognized.
- Reinstall RIP software: Sometimes the software fails to detect the dongle due to corrupted installation.
- Use a direct USB cable: If possible, bypass the dongle and connect the printer directly to your computer to isolate the issue.
Additional Checks
| Issue | Suggested Fix |
|---|---|
| Firmware mismatch | Visit HTVRONT’s Support Center to check for updates. |
| RIP software not detecting printer | Ensure the printer is selected in the correct port and profile. |
| No response from printer | Check if the printer is in DTF mode and not CMYK or another setting. |
| Environmental factors | Keep humidity between 40–60% and temperature around 68–77°F to avoid static or ink drying issues. |

Hi @Melissa_McCormick! Just checking in—any luck getting your DTF printer up and running? We’re rooting for you!
I received my DTF printer bundle about 3 weeks ago and at first, I struggled a little bit, but now everything is running smooth and I have been able to make prints and press them and they look amazing. If I leave it alone for a couple days, I have to clean it a few times to get it printing again, but I love the machine and the bundle that I ordered. I am impressed.
That’s fantastic to hear! It’s always a bit of a learning curve with new equipment, but it sounds like you’ve really hit your stride. I’m glad the prints are turning out amazing—there’s nothing like seeing your work come to life. Thanks for sharing your experience with the bundle, and it’s great to know you’re loving the machine. Keep creating and please share your creations under Inspiration category. ![]()
My DTF printer isn’t working. I’ve only had it a few weeks. I’ve been in contact with support. They are asking me to send a picture of the print head. Can someone tell me how to get to the print head? I have asked. They haven’t responded yet.
Any help is appreciated.
Sorry to hear your DTF printer isn’t working yet. Here’s a link you can check to locate the print head:
Would love to see your designs. I am interested in seeing creative illustrations produced with the DTF printer. I find myself a bit intimidated by sublimation and there is the hacks that lead to eliminating that powder process. Maybe I am confused either way Congratulations on your new DTF! ![]()
These are Awesome! I really like your ALS awareness Tshirt. It rings in close to the ![]()
Thank you. I made these shirts for an ALS walk that my son and daughter-in-law participated in because she lost her grandma to ALS in April '25.
My condolences and the walk for ALS is great cause. My family is walking for Cancer awareness and I am currently creating T-shirt designs for us. I will post what I come up with. So many ideas/svgs to choose from. You are a great inspiration! ![]()
Thank you! Yes there are many designs and it is great that we can use our craft to be able to make items that are cherished.
@Mary_Williams, just want to check in with you. Do you have any updates with your DTF Printer? Hope you get it fixed!
Thanks for asking. We got to the point where they scheduled a pickup for repair. Hopefully it won’t be long.
