šŸŽ¶ Friday Fun: Let’s Talk Music!

Not my first concert but a memorable and funny one. During my college days. We went to a concert here in the Phils. (Tanduay Rock Fest). The bouncer won’t let me in because I have no ID (left it at home in a hurry) and I look like a minor  but I’m already 20 yrs old that time but look like a high school student really . My height don’t help either being only 4’10 . ( for context - it is an alcohol brand sponsored concert). It took more convincing for them to let me in :joy::sweat_smile:. But eventually they let me in  and I enjoyed listening and singing to OPM songs

  • Who’s your favorite singer or band? All who sing Christian Music
  • What music do you like to listen to while crafting? Christian Music
  • What was the very first concert you ever went to, and what do you remember most about it? My first concert has to be Los Lobos, I went with my Mom because my Dad was in New York at the time working,
  • Have you ever made a DIY T-shirt, tote, or any craft inspired by a concert or your favorite music? Yes I made me a shirt that says " I speak the name of Jesus over you" I get a lot of compliments when I wear it! [/quote]

I know the feeling; I looked so young that I had to keep my Birth Certificate with me in my wallet until I was in my mid-20s!

I love this topic! I’ve always been a huge concert fan, there’s just something magical about live music! It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a live show (definitely before kids), but I used to go all the time.

I’m lucky enough to live just ten minutes from two big venues, Jones Beach Amphitheater and Nassau Coliseum, and only about a 50-minute train ride from Madison Square Garden. Let’s just say I’ve been to my fair share of shows… and yes, I’ve saved every single ticket stub from every concert I’ve ever been to!

When I’m crafting, my playlist is a mix of’80s and ’90s throwbacks, a little country, and even musical soundtracks (I can never resist Hamilton!). Music just makes creating even more fun!

I love music and I live it so much, I cannot listen to my favourite music any moment, as it rises my adrenaline as a sugar overdose :joy:

I’ve listen too many kind of music. I remember a period where I spent hours surfing All Music Guide to discover musics from all around the world. Many of the discoverings stayed with me up to today.

But If I have to choose among all of it, as hard as it is, I guess there’re 3 groups I’d choose: The Beatles, The Pixies and Vetusta Morla.

Flamenco, Rembetika, Cuban music, Mediterranean Arab rythms… could also be in the top of the chart, but I can keep going and going.

When I’m asked about my favourtite music I use to say this: I like all the good music and some of the bad :joy:

:saxophone: ā€œMusic has been the soundtrack of my life. I grew up surrounded by melodies, my father playing his guitar, our family singing together, each of us finding our own instrument and voice. My older brother on guitar, me on saxophone, my sisters on vocals, piano, clarinet and lyre, and my youngest brother on percussion. Now, watching my little girl of five discovering her rhythm on the drums fills me with pride and joy.

The saxophone, my golden wedding gift from my husband, symbolizes not just music, but love, legacy, and the voice of my soul. The vinyl record in my artwork is a tribute to my parents and to the harmony of my childhood.

To me, music is a privilege, a gift, and a form of art that connects generations. It’s the magic of creating, the beauty of inspiring, and the kindness of teaching, all in one timeless melody.ā€
