H17 blue heat press A hobbyist look let’s try a Flask!

The H17 has been fun to use. I had one item I really want to know if it could work for to press and that is a flask. I have seen people on the htvront amazon lives asking about a flask press. Most flasks have a curve so it a fun item to try.

The h17 temperature doesn’t get as high in temperature so I choose to put the flask into the press and let it heat up as well.
I set the press temperature top and bottom to 320 and set time for 500 seconds and 20 seconds pre heat. so a little over 8 min of time again I choose to do this because normal sublimation temp for tumblers i use is usually 356 F so it’s only 36 degrees lower so I had high hopes this would work.

This is where I made a mistake. I was so excited for this experiment I made a oops and put the film in upside down! Talk about disappointment hahaha.

Waited all the time so excited to see if it would work. And open the press with hopeful expectations to realize my own error messed me up. But it looked like it could have worked as you see in the photos. I’ve diffrent angles after the time was up.

Not to be discouraged back to printing I went! I re printed the design, let it dry then put the film in shinny side up this time!

At this point the flask has definitely had time to heat up so it should only help it.
I sit and wait excited to see how this turns out because I have been thinking about this experiment since I learned about the h17!

Moment of truth……. Opening the press after time as ended

Looks promising right!

Now let’s remove the film

Let me just say I am beyond excited this worked!

Now because I am a gluten for punishment and I dislike waste l wanted to see if I could use that film sheet I put in wrong on the back side I have nothing to lose I really just want to see if anything may work.

Remember the film was already used to it had a shape so it’s a full on extrament now! While it was going I heard the film loose it’s seal in the machine so now it’s just waiting the time out.

It worked out ok for the fact the film had be heated already so I am not sad I just wanted to try it. I may work better being turned the other way but that’s something I will try another day.

I am excited to say if you want you can use the H17 to put a design on a flack! Yes cost effective wise it’s a little pricey for pressing a design on it but it’s a lot of fun!

Now I wanted to try a completely different thing in the h17 that involves
Just using the press as an oven. I got some printable shrinky dink type film that gets 50% smaller so you could make charms ornaments what ever you would like with it. I wanted to try for ornaments for my hockey tree I am making that I am sublimating ribbon for. I used the same design and cut it into sections and my hold punch was hindering so I just went for it.
I set the H17 to 320F and 210 seconds I placed the button jigs with butcher paper tampered on in the press and have it ago never having used this product before I just used instructions try this out.

Well the idea was fun I learned I would have had the print done on the other side of the film as it wanted to heat and curl one way made them shaped a lot of fun ways.

That’s fine now I place 3 more in press put butcher paper on top of them too then let it go.

They worked great and it was a fun simple thing that the h17 clan be used for and for those with children could be safer then using a regular oven to create.

I have found the H17 press to be a lot of fun to use work with after a few mess ups and figuring it out more here’s some things to remember
Make sure your printer is selected to print on A4 paper
Let design dry a bit more using it
Shiny side up matte side faces item you want design on!
Have fun and let your imagination and determination guide you!

Oh, this is so cool. Thank you for testing different things out. I’m super excited for the shrink plastic, I use a heat gun at the moment and sometimes it can be so annoying that I get fed up with it. I don’t have a sublimation oven, so I was keen to try things out like this for myself. The flask turned out great to even with the mistakes, the side that worked looks awesome.

Can’t wait to get mine, wish Australia would get things sooner.

The k yes the using already heated sheet that had been upside down worked but I think if it had been a new sheet it would have been perfect I just had finished of my sheets of film for that pack and wanted to see if I could get a transfer with it. The using the h17 for the shirt nj plastic was just fun! But a idea for another way to use it safely for another items
