Hi @Dennis_Flynn1, Thanks for reaching out! You’re definitely on the right track—LightBurn does work with the Loklik iEngrave, but wireless connectivity from a laptop can be a bit tricky.
Here’s what you need to know:
• USB connection is the most reliable method for using LightBurn with the iEngrave. That’s why it works smoothly from your laptop via USB.
• Wireless control via the mobile app uses the engraver’s built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, which is designed specifically for the app—not for direct laptop-to-laser communication.
• LightBurn doesn’t currently support wireless connection to the iEngrave out of the box. It expects a USB or Ethernet connection, and the iEngrave doesn’t offer native Ethernet or Wi-Fi bridging for LightBurn.
If you’re hoping to go wireless from your laptop, it would require advanced setup—like using a Wi-Fi-to-USB adapter or a LightBurn Bridge (which isn’t officially supported for Loklik yet as far as I know).
What wifi to usb adapter do you suggest?
I would suggest contacting the HTVRONT support for better assistance.
I’m having issues getting lightburn to connect to the IEngrave on a Mac. My system shows that the usb is recognized but lightburn always gets stuck at “waiting to connect”. Any ideas?
Honestly, I’ve seen a few folks run into the same issue with the iEngrave on a Mac, and so far I haven’t come across anyone who’s gotten LightBurn and macOS to play nicely together with that machine. It’s been a while since the first reports, and no confirmed success yet.
In the meantime, have you tried running it through the mobile IS app just to make sure the machine itself is responding the way it should? That can help narrow down whether it’s a connection issue or a LightBurn/Mac compatibility thing.
I was able to connect via the idea studio WiFi but not with the usb. I saw someone else mention that others have had a machine defect with the usb. But now, I cannot connect to anything and one of the screws from the laser casing has fallen out somehow (was able to identify based on a Facebook group post), but I’m not sure where/how to put it back. (My hubby says it looks like I’ll need to use an Allen wrench). But, when I looked in the casing, it looks like I’m missing 2 screws so not sure which side it should go on.
I only have 3 screws on my laser module head as well, and it seems most people do — not 4. You might want to check out this post for reference: Trying to follow I-Engrave Air Assist installation Instructions and I have alot of Questions for your reference only. Hope it helps!
Thanks. I’ll take a look.
