The Crafter has two holder eyes, but the iCraft has only one? I’ve always wondered about this during my research process. I even asked the store representative here, but I didn’t get a satisfying answer. I don’t know if any of you know the reason. Why was a feature from the older model removed in the newer one? I haven’t used the Crafter, but that feature seems at least somewhat useful. At the very least, it adds practicality. It feels like a step backward rather than progress with the new model. Am I wrong?
You are absolutely right I was also very surprised by that coz I have both machines and it’s definitely much practical to have 2 adapters rather than one. I also have fear the something may broke when I open the adapter coz it’s very hard and definitely I don’t like to open it replace between blades pens scoring tool a lot
I’m afraid it may get broken ![]()
I agree with this. I prefer the double holder rather than the single one so you can already set the draw and cut function if ever you’d need it. It really is more practical.
Maybe they’re experimenting and mimicking designs of other cutting machines? Or maybe since the iCraft is relatively smaller than the crafter, they reduced the holders to coincide with the size reduction?
I agree, I did like the two holders of the crafter. Meant you weren’t switching between tools so much. The reason why they got rid of two holders in the icraft is pure speculation. But I think it had something to do with reducing size and it would also be alot easier to program and calibrate one holder than it is to program and calibrate 2. Could also be to keep production costs down.
I agree with what you said. Maybe this was done due to production costs or other reasons, but for a company looking to grow, it seems like an unnecessary move. I don’t know, maybe some of the community managers would like to respond as well. That would enlighten us ![]()
All I can say for now is, sana all hahahaha ![]()
Just continue being active in the community ![]()
lol can you image. People will struggle without the double cheers for referrals that the only way possible
The last year or so have been a blur for me. It did take a really long time to get my machine. I was about to believe it was a scam. I bought mine thru a crowd sourcing deal. I got the blue one. Between my oldest son losing his battle with cancer and my getting hip replacement surgery - I guess I don’t remember when exactly I got mine. I just set it up within the last week.
2 things: I didn’t know which one it was. icraft or the crafter. mine has the 2 holders. Then when I attempted to cut out some vinyl that was NOT htvront - I couldn’t interpret the cutting force. it said 6.5 which barely skimmed the surface, I finally gave up on anyting less than about 400 which I had never seen before. that did cut it. but I have never used gram force on either my Silhouette Cameo or Cricut so I really don’t know what I"m doing.
Moving on to number 2. thought I’d try print and cut. first thing was my machine would not calibrate. period. it says it can’t read the registration marks. so I tried a print and cut without calibrating. it won’t read those marks either.
THEN— and you can see why this is exhausting ------ I got a popup that told me to update the firmware. now it won’t do that either. it won’t find my machine so consequently won’t update…
I’m not exactly sure what this machine is good for in my case. I can cut out HTV, but no clue how to set it. the recommended 6.5 force isn’t even an option. it goes from 0 to 800.
I admit - I started playing with this machine to take my mind off my son, and now I’m more frustrated that ever.
I do like how quiet it is. but mine didn’t come with anything other than the one cutting tool, a mat, and 2 blades. I didn’t know which was which. and of course the plug to plug it in.
anyone else having these issues or am I a complete idiot?
thanks for letting me vent. and for any and all advice someone might get a chance to offer.
Suzi
I am deeply sorry for your loss…
If you need guidance in using your machine, we can help you here.
You have the 1st version, the Loklik Crafter.
For the firmware update, make sure you’re holding down the power button while your laptop is searching for it. Never let go of that power buttong during the whole process of firmware update
I held down the button for almost 15 minutes. it found it on com4 but it wouldn’t update. I did use the USB cord. I’m using a PC not a laptop. when I did the ‘flash’ it never moved beyond 1%. the message that said it would stop if I hit exit? wasn’t sure what that meant. it isn’t clear about holding down the power button. do you do that with the machine ON or OFF? I tried it both ways. no luck. how long should it typically take? I figured probably 5 minutes or so, but it just never worked.
at least I now know what machine it is. thanks for that info.
