Thank you for your step-by-step guide. Hopefully when I get the icraft I will be able to refer myself back to here to follow the guide

Wish there was a continuous cut with the loklik crafter as well

What do you mean by continuous cut? Please elaborate,I’d love to know the pro s and cons about this machine x

I think it’s like matless cut, just the roll of vinyl being used and can go beyond 24 inches length from what I understand

I was going to ask this same question.

Yes from my understanding ( like other brands who offer this but with only smart materials )

The matless cut means all vinyl used in the icraft machines will now support mat less cutting which simply means that we will not require a mat when cutting our vinyl. This is amazing because, the amount of mats I go through yearly lol means less costs incurred and mats can be used for certain projects only ( like print and cut)

I’ve never tried it on my cricut but i think i would love it

I think it only works for th newest machines on the circuit. Unsure about the older ones.

Yeah I have all of the last 3. The air 2, maker and maker 3.

Yeah so with the maker you need to buy smart materials for it to work otherwise it doesn’t work for normal Vinyl.

I’ve tried matless cutting on my loklik crafter, the material needs to be longer than 12 inches since it needs to reach the black rollers and maybe it needs to be thicker for traction for it to flow properly.

That’s what I’ve noticed when i tried it out before, my material reached the rollers but only just a little bit so it moved a bit and some parts did not cut properly.

Also, pressure needs to be calculated properly for it to be cut and weeded out nicely, you can’t use the presets.

I personally wouldn’t know much about matless cutting as for the cricut I found the materials to be more expensive however I did notice when shopping the vinyl was much stronger and also the backing was thick too… regarding the length requirements I wouldn’t know.

So you could do matless cutting on the maker 3 as that machine supports it. You need to buy special smart material as it is wider so it fits between each roller of the machine so it can feed through. Also it has a thicker backing because there is no mat it needs to be thicker. I find it’s a bit harder to weed because of this. I’m hoping the htvront smart materials version is better. Fingers crossed.

You’re speaking of only using it without the mat correct? You can use regular vinyl with the newer machine as well.

Wow thank you. However, i still can’t calibrate my print and cut function in my Loklik crafter. Hope this is already fixed in loklik icraft.

I believe it is easier to calibrate the icraft. I really hope they still try and fix the crafter machines calibration though. It sucks cause they did advertise that it could do print and cut

That’s correct ( smart materials are the only ones that work with the mat less feature) and yes I’m aware of normal vinyl being used in the cricut machine with a mat.
