My New Old Favourite Weeding Tool!

If you’re struggling to weed your vinyl, as I was, and you’ve tried a few different weeding tools, then just lightly sand the tip of your weeding tool. It makes a huge improvement.

I used some 180 and then 400 grit wet & dry sanding sheets on the green hook weeder that came with my Crafter. You don’t need to be rough with it, just lightly pinch a little piece between your finger and thumb, and gently pull the tip through the sandpaper a few times.

It only takes a few seconds and now it makes weeding a breeze. Be careful though, because this thing is soooo sharp now!

Never thought to do this with sandpaper. Great tip, thank you for sharing. I do have a couple weeding tools that I think they are blunt now, so I am off to try this

Great tip. Besides de Loklik’s weeding tools I have a good wood and metal awl for engraving, a jewel to me. But he tip has a small dent. It’s just the micro-hook shaped edge that really cuts. I’ll try sanding it to see if it can be fixed.

That’s a great tip try using the weeding tweezer and the the pin pen it’s game changer, at first it may seem to be hard with the penbut once you manage it you won’t be able to use anything else lol

It’s definitely worth a try. Hopefully you’ll be able to restore a great tool.

I only tried the sanding the hook weeder after the tip snapped on one of my pin pens. I don’t think I’ll go back to the pin pen now, as I always found the straightness a bit awkward.
