Welcome to the community, @jooooooy! So glad you’re here ![]()
If you’re aiming to cut the full rectangular sheet, here’s your quick-start tip:
Head to your layers panel and locate the text layer—go ahead and hide it.
Then select your full sheet and set your kiss cut and die cut parameters as needed.

welcome to the community @jooooooy you need to create a 3rd layer “a cut layer” of the 2 x blue rectangle’s only (you end up sending 2 layers to the task list)
1/ print the sticker sheet (print then cut feature)
2/ kiss cut the boys (print then cut feature)
3/ die cut the rectangle outside line (print then cut feature)
NOTE: don’t move or eject the mat during any of the steps
Just hide the text after printing and before cutting. Anyway the texts is dark blue, unlike the rest of the cutting, so Idea Studio will generate a separated cutting task for it and it won´t give tahat colour cutting parameters unless you actually select that colour when you enter the paramenters.
So just don´t select it when entering parameters or jus don´t perform that cutting. Unless you’re giving the text the same colour than the exteral rectangle, I don´t see how IS is cutting it without an active order from your side. Mabe I’m missing something or your explanation was not detailed enough, please let us now more details or include screenshoot of your cutting task in IS.
This video might help you more. Shows you the steps I did to create a sticker sheet like the one you are trying to do. I share my die cut and kiss cut settings as well so you can have a starting point. @InkiteeWorkshop explained it really well. Just remember what ever colour your cut layer is shouldn’t be the same as the rest of your project, because the machine will cut everything that is that colour out. Like @redhada said after printing out your project, you can go back and hide all the layers that are causing problems and select your cut layers and press make. Just be sure to select print then cut and select already printed. Select layers to cut and cut settings and add to task. Once mat is loaded, press start on the first cut, once that’s finished don’t unload the mat, just start the next task. Do this until all tasks are completed. Then unload the mat.
If you’re still unsure please comment and I’ll try and help you further.
I’m having the same issue except I created the background outside of the design software. It’s still picking up the text in the graphic and trying to cut it. Is there a way to prevent that?
Hi and welcome @Chairosecrafts!That’s a tricky one! When the software sees text as part of the graphic, it often tries to treat it like cut lines. A workaround is to flatten or rasterize the background before importing, so the text is no longer recognized as editable shapes. You can also double-check that your layers are merged and saved as a PNG/JPG instead of a vector file. That way, the cutter should only pick up the actual design lines you want.
Could you share a screenshot of your image and canvas layers? That will help us pinpoint the issue more clearly.
Hello @Chairosecrafts welcome to the community where no question is a bad question! This is our crafters safe place. Please continue to share your concerns with us. There is always someone to help you. Thank you again for sharing your question and thank you @rinsky you are such great help. I will be adding this to my Book of tips!
