Hola!
English Translation: Hi! Please help. I bought a Loklik iCraft and installed it today, but I couldn’t get it to read the registration marks, not even for calibration. I tried with standard printer paper and photo paper, and nothing worked. I can’t cut anything, and I need it to cut printed designs. Can anyone help me, please?
Also, it’s making a strange noise, and I’m not sure if that’s normal.

Welcome to the community. We’re happy you’re here. Can you upload a photo of the calibration sheet, so I can see if the lines are in the correct place? Sometimes, the printer will scale your image to fit. It needs to be set to no scale, which you can find in the Preferences panel in the print dialog box when it pops up. If the scale is at no scale and you’re printing at 100%, it may be that your lighting is either too bright or too dark. If the room is bright, try casting a shadow over the front of the machine, so that the lines have a bit of shading over them. This works for me. If the room is dark, try adding some light, maybe with your phone flash, just try not to make it too bright, just hold it about a foot away from the print, and see if that works.
Hi Samantha! Thanks for the anwser and the welcome, i’m so excited for my new plotter, it’s my firts one,
I was able to solve it the problem for calibration, but now, i don’t now how work with my desing. My desing it’s very easy, they are mini books, but i don’t know like make the plotter machine cut. I try with desing just frame, but i dont’ know how what a cut with de desing real.
In the image it juts frames, but in the second image it’s the desing that need cut. Sorry for my english, i’m from Chile
Hi, you’re very welcome. Before clicking Make, and printing, did you make sure you have both layers selected/highlighted, or did you just have the offset layer selected? If only the offset layer is selected, it will only print that layer.
Also, I notice you’re using the Standard Grip mat with the copy paper. I suggest getting a Light Grip mat for cardstock and paper, as the standard is too strong for the paper which will cause the paper to stick to the mat. Then you will have to scrape the paper off, or was it with warm soapy water.
I could!
But now i have another problem.
In the image, the plotter cut with borden white and curver corners, any chance that don’t happend?
Awesome! I’m glad you got it to print the whole image. Did you create an offset using the offset tool, or did you use the Print Then Cut offset in the Design panel? If you used the offset tool, choose Sharp instead of round. See if that helps. If using the Print Then Cut feature in the Design panel, it should contour to however the corners are. If you expand, even once, it seems to create a curve around them. I would just use the offset tool, in Sharp mode. Then, try Print Then Cut. However, be sure to change the offset color to white so it doesn’t print the color of the offset, but only cuts it.
Ok, it looks like you may only have a select few layers selected. Make sure all of the layers are selected/highlighted, before clicking Make.
Notice in this image, all layers are highlighted gray:
In this one, I have only the white offset layer highlighted:
You can also use this tool to create your offset, you don’t have to use the one in the Design panel.
I also just received my iCraft, after using the Crafter (cutting machine 1), which never worked well at Print Then Cut. So, I’m new to the iCraft, but I know how it all works, and am trying to get mine to do PTC right now, too. ![]()

Thanks!, my image have just one layer because the desing i do it in Canva, so it’s image in PNG that i can’t edit.
I think create the image in the Loklik studio directly, but i don’t know how create a form of frame for cut, when i do press “cut and print” take the image of book and not the frame for that cut the form of mini book.
Oh gosh, i am exsausting xD
I feel the same way, at times, it’s all good. I have trouble getting my designs from Canva to work, too. Try uploading the image and using the Remove Background Image Matting process. Then, set an offset using the Offset tool. Then print, and when it comes to cutting, just select the offset layer. Enter the material parameters, then cut. See how that works for you. When I’m finished doing my test cut on this print, I’ll try uploading one of my Canva designs and see how it goes, too.
So I just did two different cuts, one using the printing cut image matting tool from the design panel and the other I just created the offset around it. The first one, the cuts were off a little bit, they were a little too far to the left of the images. On the second one, with the offset tool, the cuts were perfect.
I also just uploaded a Canva PNG to the IdeaStudio. I first used the Remove Background, then, I selected the Print Then Cut in the Image Matting panel. Once I did that, it shows 2 layers, the offset and the image. Before I used the PTC matting, it wouldn’t let me create an offset with the tool in the top bar. Afterwards, it’s allowing me to use it to create an offset around the Image Matting offset. So, I suggest creating the offset around the offset layer, then deleting the Image Matting offset. Once you do that, change the black offset to white. Then, select both images and click Make > PTC. Print your image. Then, select ONLY the white offset layer, enter the cutting parameters, then cut. See if that works.
So, it removed all of the books below that first row? Or are those the only ones you’re trying to cut? If those are the only ones, that’s perfect. Now, you can choose the Print Then Cut option and it will create the offset. Once it does that, select that layer and create a small offset around it using the Offset tool in the top bar. Then, remove the old offset from the PTC matting process. Then, print your image. Once it’s printed, cancel the Make. Go back into the Layers panel, and select just the new offset. Then click Make, again, PTC function, then instead of printing, select printed and move onto the cut. See if that works. I’m also doing this right now with mine. My first cut was off, but I didn’t back out and select only the offset layer. So, that’s what I’m doing on this go.
Well, that didn’t work for me. I went from having a perfect calibration with it cutting all 0s, to having a perfect cut using images from the Library. Now that I’m using designs from Canva, this is what I get. ![]()
This is the same problem I had with their first cutting machine. ![]()
Edit 1: Ok, I made a mistake and somehow moved the offset layer. Make sure, before you change it to white, that the offset is lined up perfectly behind the image that you want cut. I’m going to go again and see if it works better.
Edit 2: Well, this is the result after me making sure the offset was aligned. I hope you get better results.
Glad you got a nice cut finally. Just letting you know you may need to perform a new print then cut calibration for glossy paper. I go into detail and the results I found in my print then cut calibration video. Print then Cut Calibration tutorial LOKLiK IdeaStudio 3.0
Awesome! I’m glad it worked for you! You’re so very welcome!
Wishing you all the best with your new machine! Happy cutting! ![]()
