Project | Believe in Your ELF – Festive Wooden Sign with Glitter & Patterned HTV

This playful holiday sign puts a whimsical twist on encouragement, blending sparkle with seasonal charm. I found the design in the IdeaStudio library. I then uploaded a photo of the wooden plaque, and set it at the dimensions of the real board. Then I placed the design inside to make sure I had a perfect fit.

I started with a wooden base and layered bold lettering: “Believe” in red glittery cursive, “IN YOUR” in crisp black uppercase, and “ELF” in patterned HTV featuring red, green, and white holiday motifs. To finish the design, I added elf shoes with red glitter and green glitter cuffs, plus silver glitter snowflakes scattered around for extra sparkle. I made extra snowflakes and lined them evenly with each other, hid the ones in the design before I clicked MAKE, so I wouldn’t waste a lot of vinyl. Then, I placed each piece onto the wooden board, and pressed at 300°, for 15 seconds, at around 30 psi with my H10 12x10in Heat Press. All of the glitter vinyl stuck on the first press. A second press was needed, as the “I” in the black HTV wasn’t completely adhered. Another 10 seconds at 300° did the trick.

Pressed with care, using all HTVRONT branded HTV, the sign combines humor, positivity, and festive detail—making it perfect for holiday décor or gifting. It’s a joyful reminder to embrace both creativity and cheer during the season.

This is really cute, and love the addition of the patterned HTV. Sometimes it’s hard finding projects for the patterned stuff

Thank you!:heart: I’m happy you think so! You’re so right. I’ve been trying my best to figure out what to do with the patterned Christmas HTV. I figured this would be a good use for it.

Charming result! The pattern layer makes it so charming. I think the patterns should be smaller, it would be easier to find perfect projects for them.

Thanks so much, @Judi_B & @redhada! I’m happy you both enjoy! I love the patterned HTV, but I agree, @redhada, if the patterns were smaller it would be so much better. I was a little sad that the Christmas trees were cut off, I would’ve like to have had them a little more to the left, but I really had no way to tell where they’d end up in the cut. A smaller print would surely make them more visible in smaller elements. Although, this text is fairly big and bold, a smaller print could’ve benefited it greatly.
