I enjoy many forms of crafting. Silk painting is one of my favorites. i started with some thin white silk and drew the butterfly design i picked from the library. It’s lines were faint but still were able to be seen. Then i put the silk on stretccher bars and piped in my resist. After it cured I filled in the areas with silk dye. Heat setting and washing out the resist came next. I assembled the pillow with a neutral back and a bright red satin under the silk to give it a soft pink glow. I used a different color sceme than the original but I think it turned out pretty for a Valentines Day gift for a friend. Happy Crafting!
