Project | New Year Canvas

As the calendar turns and we greet another year, I wanted to create something that felt like a fresh breath of possibility—a visual reminder that every day is a chance to begin again. So I grabbed a blank canvas, painted it black, and let the magic unfold.

This little sign was born from that moment of inspiration. The base is a simple canvas, hand-painted in matte black to give it depth and contrast. For the lettering, I chose silver vinyl for the phrase “12 New Chapters”—a nod to the twelve months ahead, each waiting to be written. But the real sparkle comes from the number “365”, cut from holographic vinyl that catches the light and shifts with every angle. It’s a celebration of every single day, each one a new chance to grow, create, and dream.

I love how the holographic vinyl dances across the black background, like hope shimmering in the dark. It’s not just decorative—it’s a mindset. Whether this sits on a desk, a shelf, or a studio wall, it’s a gentle nudge to embrace the blank pages ahead with courage and creativity.

This piece is more than just a craft—it’s a promise to myself and to anyone who sees it: the year ahead is unwritten, and we hold the pen.

That is absolutely stunning! It’ll look great on a wall or on a stand where it can catch all the light.

Such a fun design.

Yeah, it really spoke to me. I’m surrounding myself with positivity this year and this will remind me every day that today is a new chance.
