Project | "Pretty Little Things" Decorative Tray

Difficulty: Intermediate

For this project, I transformed another simple wooden tray into a bright, cheerful décor piece with a glossy, boutique-style finish. I started by painting the tray with acrylic paint, building up a smooth teal base that gives the whole piece a fresh, modern feel. Once the paint dried, I sealed the tray inside and out with gloss varnish to protect the color and prep the surface for vinyl.

Using a design I created in the Loklik IdeaStudio, I cut the “Pretty Little Things” lettering on my Loklik iCraft Cutting Machine. The mix of HTVRONT matte permanent adhesive vinyl and color‑shifting chrome permanent adhesive vinyl adds dimension and a playful pop of color. After applying the design with transfer tape, I mixed and poured epoxy resin into the tray to seal the vinyl and create that glass‑like shine.

The finished tray is perfect for displaying jewelry, small décor, or any of your own “pretty little things,” adding a fun and stylish touch to any space.
