Create a magical self‑care pouch using a mix of tie‑dye and holographic HTV. This project combines soft gradient elements with reflective accents to create a calming, whimsical design. It’s a great introduction to working with multiple HTV types, customized cut settings, and precise placement of small details.
Materials Used
- HTVRONT Tie Dye HTV (fairies and lotus flowers)
- Holographic HTV (Temu brand) for text and hands
- Gold holographic HTV (Temu brand) for stars
- Canvas pouch
- Cutting machine
- Weeding tools
- Teflon sheet
- Heat press (H10 used)
Cutting Notes
The tie‑dye HTV was cut using the HTVRONT Pure Heat Transfer Vinyl setting with default settings. It cut cleanly and weeded easily. Both holographic HTVs were cut using the HTVRONT Holographic HTV setting with a customized force of 7, speed 3, and two passes. These materials are thicker and require more pressure for clean cuts.
To save vinyl, all tie‑dye elements were arranged in the top-left corner of the mat. The silver holographic hands were placed close to the text and flipped to allow trimming and separating with scissors. Stars were cut in a straight line, then trimmed and placed individually during assembly.
Pressing Instructions
The tie‑dye and silver holographic layers were pressed together at 295°F for 10 seconds. The silver holographic HTV overheated slightly at this temperature, causing minor blemishes and melting. I recommend pressing holo layers last, at 285°F. Taping the carrier sheet is recommended to prevent shifting; skipping this step caused slight movement during pressing. After peeling the first layer, the gold holographic stars were placed individually using the on‑screen design as a guide and pressed to finish the project.
Difficulty: Intermediate
This project involves mixed HTV types, customized cut settings, manual placement of small elements, and careful pressing, making it ideal for crafters ready to build confidence with more detailed designs.
