Hi everyone! My name is Joni. I am a mama of 5. I am starting a business called Collect;bles for Change. The sole purpose is to actively advocate to get mental health and substance abuse resources (like IOT and an inpatient facility) here for our adolescents. We are home to Purdue University, but our kids have nothing beyond talking to someone once a week, if they are lucky. If they have Medicaid, it will be at least a year wait. I am mom who is fed up with it, so I am making things to promote positivity, raise funds, and get myself onto a stage with a microphone until those in power make the money move or they get the boot.
Hello everyone Iâm Benjie from Vietnam.I usually travel and met a friend who introduced Loklik for me and since them Iâm so obsessed with the vinyls especially when I bought vynils from other country.
Hi @JoniB243 . Welcome to a very active, informative and supportive forum. I call it family myself. There is a wealth of fun, educational and inspirational things happening in HTVRONT/LOKLIK community. Welcome again and good luck on your journey assisting the Adolescents with mental health and Substance abuse. You are a blessing in disguise. Happy crafting!
Welcome @JoniB243 ! Bless you for your heart and cause. The kids are lucky to have an advocate like you. I hope you get the platform you need to execute the change you need and ultimately the kids need. You are right at home. This is a safe space to fill your cup as you fill the cup of those around you.
Thank you. I have an almost 16 year old I am about to ding dong ditch on someoneâs door step! Heâs pierced his nostril, his eyebrow, and his septum in the last two weeks WITHOUT permission.
Oh yeah, and Iâm in the middle of a custody war bc the he doesnât want to be over there anymore.
WHO IS THE LUCKY WINNER GOING TO BE?!?! Terrible driver too!!
Itâs going to be OK. Step 1, BREATHE!!! Breathe in through your nose 1 2 3. Hold 1 2 3. Out through your mouth. Again. Breathe in through your nose. Feel your lungs expanding and see your chest rise. Hold 1 2 3. Out through your mouth. Last time. Breathe in through your nose. Hold 1 2 3. Out through your mouth.
Step 2, Give yourself some grace! You are an awesome mom doing the best that you can with the cards you were dealt with. You are awesome, loved, capable, strong (even when it doesnât seem like it at times), and ENOUGH!!!
Step 3, This is a phase, a season. Your son is going through a lot of transitions right now and heâs looking for a way out. A way to cope. A way to feel. All you can do right now is shower him with love, attention, and structure.
Step 4, Custody battles SUCK!!! It takes a toll on you and the kids. Stay strong. Stay focused. And donât lose hope. This too shall pass.
Step 5, Find an outlet. Guess what!?! You have one right here and youâre not alone. Iâve been where you are and weâre celebrating my babyâs sweet 16 this weekend. Craft, cry, create, and build your community!
