The maintenance and upkeep of a DTF printer is more than I currently have time for lol. Maybe in a few years.
Theyāre getting better and making it easier. Thatās a big part of why Iām now looking and itās quicker. Iāll definitely still be using my vinyl with other machines but with a lot of colors this will help.
My advice to you donāt convert a printer into sublimation save the money and buy it a sublimation printer I do no edits no special programs I just give the order to print and thatās it, itās the best decision Iāve ever made I have scf100
I have
1.inkjetā¦ canon pixma
2.laser colour to do foilingā¦ brother
3.sublimatiomā¦ scf100 Epson
4.thermal printer
5.pocket thermal printer
Iāve only converted an epson pribter to a pigment one. Those that are already pigmant are already quite expensive as it is just like sublimation printers as well plus the DTF and UV DTF are very far away from my budget so I outsource them instead
Yes I think to buy Dtf prints is much better specially if we donāt get daily orders
Snap I have multiple printers for different projects
Brother **laser printer (**for everyday printing.
Brother Mono printer for foiling
Sawgrass sg500 for sublimation
Ink jet Canon ix6850 A3 for all my chip bags, business stationary.
Munbyn Bluetooth and WiFi thermal printer
Brother label printer ribbon printer.
Oh thatās nice
I would love to get ribbon printer just to have a full collection
What is **Mono printer ** coz I hate my laser one and replaced 3 printers in order to master foiling but still donāt get it perfectly
Donāt get me wrong itās nothing fancy. Itās around Ā£30 in the UK but I really want one of them industrial ones LOL you know me I want everything ha ha ha ha
Mono is just black-and-white so it doesnāt contain any other ink colours. This is perfect for foiling as usually normal laser printers go through other colour inks and these mix with the black- Ink and doesnāt give a good finish on the black when filing you might see a little bit of speckles
I converted my epson printer to sublimation and havenāt had any issues. A Printer I got from a lady on Facebook marketplace that wanted to sell it because she didnāt know how to get it printed wirelessly. I already had two for regular printing and gave one to my brother. He didnāt know how to work it and had his other one so he used that one and when he passed away I got it back. I Now have 3 ecotank 2720. A ecotank 2803 brand new in the box and a ecotank 8550.
Good for you but Iāve seen so many people having problems with their prints.
If someone is about to buy a new printer when they convert it they loos the garantie immediately, they should buy Icc profile and if something wrong goes with the printer, they have to pay the repair costs. Then it will only be between 100 to 200 Euros I guess
As a bad luck person I would always advise to save more money and buy originally sublimation printer
People have problems with their prints on regular sublimation printer as well. It does voids the warranty on a printer once itās converted.
I contact the manufacturer of the ink Iām using for the ice profile of their ink (free or Iāve been lucky) just to have if my colors are off on a print. Havenāt had to use any yet. Iām converting an expensive printer either. Cost maybe a little over $250. Iāve seen people with true sublimation printers have problem out of theirs and are super expensive. It also voids a warranty with most printers if you donāt use their brand of sublimation inks in their printers. I donāt advise any one on a purchase theyāre making I just state my experience.
Yes that is correct to be honest I always tell my followers this is my experience but you have to make up your mind. Donāt ask me which printer which cutting machinesā¦ You should do your research and buy whatever you want. That is absolutely correct what youāve just wrote
I understand where youāre coming from. Personally, I bought the sublimation printer due to not having to faff around with ICC. I wanted a printer that I can just print and go and this is is what work for me best. Touchwood has been good to me so far and I only use in that are recommended for the printer. They are very very costly around $60 per ink (Ā£50)
Same here I only use the Epson ink and Inshalla it will stay working without any issues
Yeah thatās another complaint of using printer brand inks. They are sooooo expensive. I use hiipo ink and Printers Jack. Well Iāve bought both. Only have used Printers Jack so far because I have the ecotank printer and I saved so much on ink. Iāll have to replace the black before I have to replace any other color of course.
Yeah I would stick too it and wouldnāt risk all the faff
I converted an Ecotank 2800 using Hippo ink. The ICC profile is a free download from their website and wasnāt that difficult to change the color profile in GIMP before printing. I watched a Jennifer Maker video on YouTube and she went through the process step by step
