Talky Tuesday | Did Your Crafting Plans Survive the Year?

Hello community!
It’s Tuesday again, so let’s talk about something a little reflective and a little funny.

Around this time every year, we tend to make all kinds of plans for our lives, and crafting is usually part of that too.
Try a new material. Learn a new technique. Be more consistent. Finally finish those half-done projects.
Of course, whether those plans actually happen by the end of the year is another story.

So let’s look back for a moment:
:sparkles: Did you have any crafting plans last year that you actually followed through on?
:sweat_smile: Anything that didn’t quite go as planned?
:thread: Was there something you meant to try but kept putting off?
:thought_balloon: Or did your crafting year turn out completely different from what you expected?

Share your stories below. Wins, misses, and everything in between are all welcome.
We’ll randomly pick 3 replies to receive 100 Cheers this week.

See you down there :speech_balloon::sparkles:

After all the planning and visualization, I was finally able to do my pop up diy press on for wallets, tshirts, totebags and more. This year was a blast and I am looking forward to use my HTVRONT auto press v2 on 2026! So exciteddddd. For years I’ve dreamed to do this and now I have finally done it :heartpulse:

I never make big plans because I often just do what I think is fun in the moment.

Congratulations, @Rose_Ann_Dauden, @rinsky, & @Eileen_Stafford! :clap::clap::clap::tada::confetti_ball:

I had many crafting plans with which I succeeded. I added HTV to my paintings and learned a lot from those experiences. I had planned on making resin notebooks for 2 years and, finally, l made that happen! I was so thrilled with the final results. I still have plans for some clay, but haven’t gotten around to those, yet. I’ll probably make those my number 1 priority for the new year. While I had many plans that went well, and some not so well, my crafting year ended very differently from what I expected, as I was given the amazing opportunity to test out the H10 Heat Press in the Hands-on Reviewer Program. Never had I ever even considered that would happen, but I’m so grateful for the opportunity. :heart: It made my crafting so much easier, and I made so many projects with it, which I probably wouldn’t have gotten around to, yet, had I not received it. I already have so many plans for it in 2026. I can’t wait to see what this new crafting year brings for not only myself, but this whole community. It’s been such a blessing showing up and seeing what all everyone has made, everyday. Wishing each and everyone of you a wonderfully creative and prosperous new year! :heart:

For me, this year was about getting better at what I was already doing—and I truly feel I accomplished that. Some growth came from refining techniques I already used, while other growth came from learning brand-new options and processes.

I stepped into new projects. I invested in new machines so I could bring more services in-house. I worked with customers who stretched me creatively and challenged me with fresh ideas. There’s nothing more rewarding than the moment I’m able to deliver and truly create what they imagined. That’s more than a tagline to me—“Creating what you imagine” is what I love doing: bringing ideas to life. I’m grateful for the tools and opportunities that make that possible.

This year, I learned—sometimes through projects that went exactly as planned, and sometimes through projects that took unexpected turns, both good and challenging. Every experience taught me something valuable.

Overall, it’s been a good year—business-wise and creatively. I’m grateful for the growth, thankful for the lessons, and excited to continue learning, creating, and growing.

Actually, I only started offering printing services this year. I had plans to set up a mini store outside our house since we’re close to schools. I even planned to buy shelves where I could hang and display my products like stickers, personalized keychains, notepads, and more.

That didn’t happen this year because, first, I have a full-time job from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., so there’s no one to man the store. Second, when I get home, I’m already busy being a housewife. Haha.

So yeah, none of my plans this year came true, but one thing is for sure—my heart will always be in crafting, even if I’m just inside the house fulfilling orders. Maybe next year, the plan will finally happen. :raised_hands:t3:

My only real crafty plan was to film and post a new video once a week - every week. It was a win until October and quickly went down hill from there. The last 3 months I only made and uploaded 2 videos. I do need to give myself some grace though because I spent part of October and all of November helping my sister after a major fall in October and kidney removal surgery in November.

Now it’s time for new goals and plans for 2026. (fingers crossed!!)

But even with the detours, my crafting year has grown so much. I’ve learned, invested, and taken real steps toward the creative life I want. I’m excited for this new journey and everything 2026 has in store.

Congratulations to @Rose_Ann_Dauden @rinsky and @Eileen_Stafford !!

My crafting plans went far beyond what I expected as I didn´t start the year thinking on crafting such a lot of different things nor having all the means I enjoy right now. This is to a great extent this community’s blame :joy: so I’m so grateful!

On the other hand, I had plans to end my Classic Greece Major Arcana Deck and although I made a huge progress, I couldn´t achieve it. And it is also mostly this community’s blame :rofl:
