Hello community!
It’s Tuesday again. Hopefully we’ve all survived Monday, so let’s chat about something a little lighter today ( it might bring back a few memories )
It feels like most people have that one puzzle at home that never quite gets finished. A few pieces done, the rest quietly waiting.
Crafting can feel a lot like that.
Here in the community, we usually share finished projects. The clean, polished results.
But behind those are projects that took longer than expected, got paused halfway, changed direction, or are still sitting on the table right now.
So let’s share those too.
Share a project that’s still in progress Something you worked on for a while and may never actually finish lol Something you paused when the direction didn’t feel right Or something you’re currently making and quietly excited about
You can share a photo, or just tell the story behind it.
We’ll randomly pick 3 replies to receive 100 Cheers this week.
Oh, do I have unfinished projects? I have many, especially if you include all of the paint pours I have on my walls, just waiting to be decorated with something. Here are some projects that I would love to finish, one day.
I’ve had this painting, for almost 2 years now, staring at me, saying, “I need something, but idk what it is.” The text is put on with permanent adhesive vinyl, although, it’s not permanent. My plan is to use a sponge to dab some paint over it and remove the vinyl, eventually. Then, I want to do the same with the butterflies, that are also adhesive vinyl. I just don’t know what colors I want to use for the dabbing. I also want to soften the edges of the stenciled paint where the brick and polka dots are. I made the stencils using my Loklik Crafter and adhesive vinyl.
I also have these wooden frames that I poured paint over and added resin to, about 3 years ago. The plan was to add adhesive vinyl to it, but I used some boat resin instead of art resin, so it yellowed. They’re not as beautiful as they used to be, so I’m not as excited about finishing them, but I will, eventually.
Then, there are these wooden trays —I painted about 2 years ago — that have been sitting on the shelf in my studio. I finally did finish them, because I thought they’d be great for the home decor event, last week. So, proof that I do finish some long overdue puzzles.
Now the troublemaker. I had a gourd that was cracked on one side. I thought carving a stone wall with a dragon tearing it apart and seeing a castle up on a hill inside. Well the wall took so many hours to do that I sat it aside. When I went back to do the dragon the gourd had become too fragile to carve the details. So sadly it has been put away and I don’t have the heart to throw it away.
Yesterday I tried a rhinestone template on a knit hat. I think it turned out pretty good. I’d been wanting to try it for a few weeks. I used my HTVRont manual hat press for the job. Worked perfectly.
I started this wreath, first one of its kind that I’ve made. I wasn’t feeling it, then I went back to it and added a little more and then a little more until I got to the ribbon. I’m still not happy with it, I think it needs to be filled in more and maybe a bit more ribbon and then a sign. I’ll get back to it one of these days!
Oh boy I have unfinished projects. It’s to the point where I’m running out of space storing them all.
Most of them are quilting and sewing projects. I just don’t get much time to sew much anymore. I do want to start doing more sewing projects on my YouTube channel so I might get through my list that way. I have a whole heap of unfinished 3D projects I need to sand and paint too. Theres just not enough time during the day.
I love working on 3D paper projects, I have made quite a few! but for some reason, there’s this one I never finished lol
Not even sure if I’ll ever get to it!
Omg! In a previous photo you shared, I thought all of those on the shelf were plushies! I’m amazed at the fact that they’re made out of paper! They’re fantastic!
