Iām planning on making a shadow box for the first time, now that Iām getting a bit more experienced cutting cardstock.
My wish would be for an iCraft. I absolutely love my Crafter, but itās more limited in function and capability than the iCraft. Fingers Xd!
My Halloween DIY project is two lanterns that I covered with vinyl foil and a pillow with heat transfer foil, some parts of the motif also glow in dark.
A small addendum for the sake of completeness: I bought the motifs on Etsy, the idea/design of sticking it on a lantern and ironing it on a pillow is mine.
These crafts look so cool ![]()
Cardstock Itās Amazing!
The lanters are very cool. Very well done!
Iām planning a Halloween party! Making decorations out of cardstock. My wish would be for some sparkly orange and purple cardstock ![]()

Thank you very much for the lovely compliments. As already changed in the post, I bought the motifs on Etsy, but the idea for designing the lantern and the cushion is mine. So itās not all my credit. ![]()

Cool idea!
+1 I love my Crafter, Iām only squeezing it until the happy day the dream of upgrading to the iCraft comes true.
And Iām also planning on making a shadow box for the first time, but I want it to be a lamp. Although Iāve made many crazy lamps, tulips and candle lamps playing with the shadows. Now I mean a, actual layered shadow lamp with the help of my dear Crafter.
Thatās a great idea and Iām sure youāll turn it into something special ![]()
My Halloween plan is to make a few spooky tumblers and shirts. I will also be handing out candy and watching some Halloween movies.
I also wish that Halloweāen was celebrated the same in UK as you seem to celebrate it in USA. It seems to be a joyous family affair, with huge effort to make the occasion fun for the littlies. ![]()
Here, in Britain, we get 14 yr old oiks whose only attempt at a costume is to put the hood of their hoodie up, thinking this entitles them to knock on my door and ask for money, not treats! Erm, no thanks. ![]()
Yes, same thing in Spain, but I guess it is because it is only a commercial imported holiday, which is totally different from our real original cultural holiday of the day of the dead, where you remember and honour your beloved gone⦠halloween only means disguise party and children knocking on homes that donāt celebrate it and have no treats waiting, anyway.
Yes, I love going all out for Halloween, remembering my Halloweens in the USA. A few years back in the town that I lived at the time, it was not celebrated at all. I was very devasted until one year I put the feelers out on Facebook and organized a Halloween trick or treating event. It was a great success and only the houses that preregistered got trick or treaters. So, everyone that wanted to be involved was and the ones that didnāt care didnāt get disturbed.
Unfortunately, everywhere trick or treat as gone the way of entitlement and kids donāt even try with their costumes and have no manners. I donāt give those kids any candy. I tell try harder next year.
Itās so sad. When we used to take our daughters around when they were young, one year there would be hardly anyone answering their doors and theyād be so disappointed, then the next year weād wished the girlsā buckets were bigger! ![]()
The FB group was a great idea. Iād thought it was so big in USA that every community was the same.
Youāre right though; no effort = no treat!
