Who used to love tie dye as kids? I loved it and had so much fun but it was a lot of pre planning and work. As a kid it was the best days in summer camp yes days cause the first day you brought your shirt in then it would get soaked in soda ash water that was not totally safe to touch. Then the next day with gives on you would twist your shirt out rubber bands on and get to dye you shirt. Now they have just use water the dye! Hello easy fun!
Htvront has just add water the dye and spay dye and it’s so much fun!
-Mix warm water to dissolve the dye make it much easier
- soak your shirt in warm water get it wet so dye can get into and spread easily it also helps you not need as much dye.
- ring out extra liquid so it’s wet but not dripping.
- Twist shirt how you want it done then let the fun begin!
- I use a roasting pan from dollar tree with a cooling rack on the bottom so the shirt is not sitting in run off and also it give you an easy clean up work area!
- After shirt is ready place in gallon bag over night if done in the summer let it sit out in the sun and semi heat set it.
- Wait 24 plus hours and ride the shirt of dye run off after that you can let it dry or place into wash and run a rinse and spin cycle I do it two times. The. Wash the shirt.
- If your worried about any dye you can run a clean cycle after or wash towels that it’s not the end of the world if they has dye on them.
Now the fun can be over or you can put htv on your shirt and make it even more fun!
I have done the dye with my neighbors kids cause why not my husband loves to tell that story of coming home to me having a the dye part with kids next door.
Here are a bunch of tie dye shirts I have done the past few years!
