Why does it sound like my blade is sticking LOKLiK crafter

I’m using the LOKLiK crafter and recently I’ve noticed that my machine makes a clicking noise on certain cuts, even with the force on one,

Can anyone please advise, I’ve uploaded a video to show what I mean.

hello Natalie @Campbells-crafts welcome to the community, I have an iCraft not a crafter but I reckon the clicking on the Crafter could be the blade/holder, not the force. It happens when the tip can’t swivel freely.
try these steps

  • Power off, unload the mat. Remove the blade holder from the clamp.
  • Take the blade out. Clean the blade with isopropyl alcohol; if the tip looks nicked, replace it.
  • Put the blade back in the holder.
  • Put the holder back in the machine and clamp firmly.
  • Try a slower speed test cut.
  • IF this doesnt work…
  • Do a pen test (no blade). If the click disappears, it was the blade setup. If it’s still clicking, contact support.

Thank you, I have checked the blade and it seems to be free to turn but I will try the pen shortly and let you know. It also seems to cut very hard even with the settings right down and calibrated its cutting through the material and the mat? I keep the speed low also.

again, it worked for the first couple of sheets with minimal issues, but after maybe 6 the blade starts snagging on the card and tears it even on straight cuts. I have emailed customer support to see if they can advise.

@Campbells-crafts, is your green mat, a standard grip mat? Try to use light grip mat. Not sure what color for your mats but mine was light blue.

this cardstock doesnt look very thick at all…
1/ what force have you used to do this this cut?
2/ are you using the fine point blade?
3/ how long have you been using your fine point blade?
4/ the green standard mat is fine to use for cardstock.
5/ let us know how the pen test goes
6/ please check the firmware version is up to date

1.I used cardstock setting force 1 speed 1
2. I’m using the deep point 60 blade
3. It’s a brand new blade and I was checking in between each new sheet for debris

Both firmware and software are upto date.

thanks for the update, i don’t think you need to use the deep point blade, I have cut 300gsm with the fine point blade and it does the job, would you mind changing your blade to the fine point and see if that helps any.
