As someone who likes to use cardstock to make cards, I absolutely hate that the Crafter cuts a slit in the top left corner before it starts cutting out the design. Is mine the only one that does this? Does the iCraft do it? I can’t think of a good reason for either machine to do so. It didn’t do it when I first got the machine, it’s something that started after a couple of updates.
For a while, I thought I had left some kind of mark on the mat in IdeaStudio, and it was cutting it because I didn’t hide it, but I never could see the mark on the screen. So, I’m assuming it’s a new thing that it does, but I just don’t understand, at all, why it would need to do this. I hope that this “feature” can be removed, because it’s really not an appealing feature, to me. ![]()
The problem with it cutting the slit is that it means if I cut a 6x12 inch piece of cardstock to make a 6x6 inch card, and I place it on the mat, corner to corner, I’m going to have a slit in the top right corner on the inside of the card.
In order to avoid this, I would have to have the machine cut a smaller rectangle out of the 6x12 or 12 x12 in piece, and to me, that’s wasting cardstock. I’ve already cut the piece and placed my elements where I want them on the mat, so it should just cut the design, no slit needed. Does it need to make sure there is material there? Why? Just cut where I want you to cut, Crafter, which is NOT a slit in the corner.
