The inspiration of this ornament/wind spinner is my brother.
This was a last year’s Christmas picture. He passed away earlier post of this year in August. This is of course the last Christmas picture I will have of him. This wind spinner is an ornament on my Christmas tree and when that get taken down will be hanging on my car rear view mirror.
To make this project i used:
Epson 2720 (converted) sublimation printer
Printers jack sublimation ink
Htvront sublimation paper
3” wind spinner
Green heat tape
htvront auto press
Butcher/line less paper
Make your image a little bigger than your spinner in your desired printing application.
Print out your design.
Cut it to fit your spinner.
I pre pressed my spinner for 10 seconds.
Line up your design where you would like for it to be on your spinner.
Tape it down with your heat tape.
Lay your project on butcher paper or line less paper (used for blow out ink) and press @385 degrees for 65 seconds.
Check to make sure your design is showing and vibrate on your spinner. If not press a little longer. Each press is different.
Take off paper with heat resistant gloves and repeat the process with the lining up your design on the opposite side and press again.
Magic your project is done.
My one of a kind keepsake is done:heart:

Follow these directions and yours can be too. Happy Crafting!

Thank you so much for sharing you’ll make with us. I can’t wait to make my wind spinners when my auto heat press arrives.

I was so excited with how it turned out. And the colors are great. I hadn’t used my printer in a while so I had to do some cleanings and then a scanner error message kept popping up. Everything was trying to get in my way but I did it. Yay:partying_face:
for me lol.

Bless you consistency is key so I’m glad you went ahead and completed it. I would’ve done the same even if it took me hours. I love to get my job done.

Yes. This is what’s keeping me. Helping me to get through. It’s hard. I never would’ve imagined. Here’s my Little brother. So young. Thanks.

It’s really hard to celebrate special occasions like these when you have lost a loved one. Lost my mom Nov 1st 2024. Christmas and New Year were hard. Tight hugs to you.

I’m so sorry for your loss
This is a wonderful sentimental idea and perfectly executed. This makes me want a sublimation printer so much!

It really is. I just haven’t been able to get into the holiday since.

Thank you. It’s so fun but you’ll have to print something almost daily to keep the print head from clogging. I converted a epson 2720. It voids the warranty of the printer but at the price you’ll make the money back selling products pretty quickly. I don’t really sell my sublimation items but I love to do it.
