Aluminium Board Weight-loss tracker

How to Create a Weight Loss Tracker: Step-by-Step Guide

Today, I created a custom weight loss tracker to monitor my progress. Here’s a detailed guide on how you can make one too!

Materials You’ll Need:

  • Aluminium boards (slightly smaller than A4 size)
  • Sublimation paper
  • Sublimation printer
  • Heat-resistant tape
  • Heat press
  • 10mm wide ribbon
  • Teflon sheets
  • Heat-resistant gloves
  • Scissors
  • Heat-resistant mat

Heat Press Settings:

  • Time: 180 seconds
  • Temperature: 180°C
  • Pressure: 20kg
  • Method: Sublimation

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Set Up Your Heat Press
Start by turning on your heat press. Set the temperature to 180°C and the time to 180 seconds, pressure to 20kg (for the LOKLIK impress auto heat press) or light pressure for clam press, then wait for the press to heat up and be ready for your project.

Step 2: Prepare Your Design
Open your design software (e.g., LOKLIK Idea Studio) , and create your weight loss tracker design. Make sure to adjust the design to fit within the dimensions of your aluminium board (A4 size is fine)
Once your design is ready, print it out using your sublimation printer. Important: Ensure that you select the “vivid color” setting for the best print quality. (Sawgrass printers only, other printer settings may vary depending on the printer and software used)

Step 3: Mirror Your Design
Before printing, mirror your design so it appears the correct way when transferred onto the board.

Step 4: Prepare the Aluminium Board
Once your design is printed, grab your aluminium board. Carefully peel off the clear plastic film from the board and dispose of it. Now, place the printed design onto the white side of the aluminium board.

Step 5: Secure the Design
Use heat-resistant tape to secure the printed design to the aluminium board, making sure it’s firmly in place.

Step 6: Protect the Design
Place a Teflon sheet underneath the taped project to protect your work surface. Add another Teflon sheet on top of the design to prevent any accidental ink transfer.

Step 7: Press the Design
With heat-resistant gloves on, carefully place the aluminium board onto the heat press. Press the start button and let the heat press work for the full 180 seconds.

Step 8: Remove the Board
Once the pressing cycle is complete, carefully remove the aluminium board using heat-resistant gloves. Place it on a heat-resistant mat and let it cool.

Step 9: Unwrap Your Project
Once the Aluminium Board has cooled down, peel off the sublimation print from the aluminium. The design should now be perfectly transferred onto the board!

Step 10: Add the Ribbon
Now, cut a 30cm piece of ribbon using scissors. Feed the ribbon through the holes at the corners of the aluminium board, tie a knot, and repeat for the other side to create a loop for hanging.

Your Weight Loss Tracker is Ready!

Now that you’ve completed the project, you can use a dry-wipe marker to track your progress each week. Simply erase and update it as you lose weight!

Honestly that’s how it started with me again so much over the holidays and my health has not been so great and me not being so active in a pool that’s also played a factor in my game so I just thought you know what New Year near me LOL

I love that time and temp board?

Great isn’t it? I’m always forgetting my time and temperatures honestly I have a sublimation Bible where I’ve written everything but even going to that sometimes is a hassle when everything is packed away. So I have this hanged on the wall to remind me every time I’ll make something. But recently the children got hold of a pen and dried it out so I’ve run out of pens to update more time and temperatures.
