For today’s HTVRONT/LOKLiK Community Daily Mission, I wanted to share a peek behind the scenes of these cheeky baby onesies I crafted using printable transfer sheets. One says “I only CRY when UGLY people hold me” (yes, I went there
), and the other reads “ANSWERED prayer”—a sweet nod to the miracle of new life.
Here’s how I brought them to life:
-
Design: I created the graphics in Canva, then mirrored them in IbisPaintX to prep for printing.
-
Print: I used my Epson EcoTank 2850 to print the designs onto non-HTVRONT branded printable transfer sheets.
-
Cut: Scissors did the trick for trimming each design.
-
Press: I laid each design face down on the onesies and used my HTVRONT H10 12x10 heat press to apply them.
Now here’s the real talk: I didn’t realize until after pressing that the transfer sheet instructions specifically advised against using an easy press. They recommended a swing arm heat press or even a home iron. So while the H10 is a powerhouse, this wasn’t its moment to shine—and I ended up with some cracking and partial adhesion.
Lesson learned: Always double-check your transfer sheet instructions! I’ve had flawless results using my professional swing arm press in the past, so I’ll be re-trying this project with that setup soon.
This wasn’t a fail—it was a creative experiment with a side of humility. And the onesies still make people laugh and smile, which is always the goal.
