I don´t know if you can upload a video now, as the rules changes from time to time about member user level of trust. I think you just can´t. You need to participate in the community and reach level 2 I think xdd
Ohh okay, thanks for the information
I was trying to find some info for you on that matter. Here you have ![]()

There’s also a limit to the size of files you ca upload, some share a link to their soc vids instead or upload a GIF of it so the file size isn’t so big
Hi I am very new to this type of crafting. I only have very limited experience with SVGs as I use a laser sometimes. Im struggling with the inability to only be able to import 5MB. I thought it would be easier to resize individual images and save them on one sheet but the software doesn’t seem to allow you to import or save projects of more than 5MB. Is it me or does this defeat the object of crafting? I want to make Greeting Cards with my new iCraft but other than plain words to cut out I cannot really see the point in it. Am I missing something? Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance
Hello @Gaynor_Reynolds !! First, let me give you a warm welcome to the forum.
The 5Mb limit is something already discussed, we all hope it can be expanded. But I can tell you only svg with many detail, pieces or lines will surpass it.
Meanwhile the limit is expanded, there’re a couple of things you can do:
- Optimize your svgs.
- Split them in to more than one: if you export them with a common background shape/square… you can then easily align them back in Idea Studio.
But there’re must be something wrong in your svg or they may be very intricanted, as it is not normal not being able to work at all because of that.
Just keep sharing details, so we can find where’s the problem and find the reason why that is happenning to you ![]()
Hi @Gaynor_Reynolds welcome to the community I have only just seen your post, even though this video is not about reducing the size of an SVG I have done it on a JPG.
feel free to check Photopea out because you can export SVG as well. EDIT: on second thoughts this way may only shrink the width/height doesn’t really shrink an SVG
Thank you for responding.
For print and cut, I do my full A4 layout on canva and download it as PNG with thransparent background. So when I upload it on Idea Studio, I don’t need to bother with the 5mb limit. I have the registration marks on canva as a guide. I just remove them before downloading, quality is 1.25. Then resize the image to 210x297cm and place on 0 X & 0 Y axis
Thank you for responding
