MY D1 DTF Printer keeps giving me an error message saying that connection failed, I have printed before , but now I’m not sure what is going on. MY Internet is connected as well as everything else
Hi, Tina! Welcome to the community!
Here’s what’s going on with the D1 when it says “connection failed,” even though your internet is working. The D1 doesn’t actually print through your home Wi‑Fi — it connects directly to your phone or tablet through the Better Printer app. So the message usually means the printer and the app aren’t talking to each other, not that your internet is down.
Here’s what I’d like you to try:
1. Check the mode on the printer
Make sure it’s in Print Mode and not Maintenance Mode. If it’s in the wrong mode, the app won’t connect at all. Tap the Mode button until it shows Print Mode.
2. Fully close the Better Printer app
Not just minimize it — swipe it away completely, then reopen it.
3. Reconnect inside the app
Go to Device → Add Device or Reconnect, and choose HTVRONT D1 when it pops up.
Sometimes the app forgets the printer after an update.
4. Restart both the printer and your phone/tablet
A quick reboot clears most connection issues.
5. Make sure Bluetooth is on
The D1 uses Bluetooth for the handshake. If Bluetooth is off or glitching, the app will say “connection failed” even though everything else looks fine.
6. Check if another device grabbed the connection
The D1 can only be connected to one device at a time. If someone else in the house opened the app first, it’ll block your connection.
If none of that works, try forgetting the printer in the app and adding it again, or unplug the printer for about 30 seconds and plug it back in.
Let me know if any of this worked, if not, we’ll move on to the next steps.
0kay I’m getting ready to try it now
