DIY Project Sharing | BRAZILL I

My Granddaughter created this cute butterfly with her name to personalize some of her things. We designed in idea studio, printed onto heat transfer paper and used household iron to complete the transfer. She was so happy with her project!

Hi @redhada the word Brazill stands/derived from:
The meaning of the name Brazill is tied to two main origins: it is likely an Irish variant of the surname Brazil, which comes from the Gaelic Ó Breasail meaning “descendant of Breasal” (strife). Alternatively, it can be linked to the word brasile, meaning a type of red dye from the Brazilwood tree, indicating a possible connection to the dyeing trade or the color red.

  • Irish origin:
    • The name Brazill is most likely an Irish variant of Brazil.
    • The Irish surname Brazil is an Anglicized form of the Gaelic Ă“ Breasail, meaning “descendant of Breasal”.
    • Breasal is a personal name that is thought to mean “strife”.
  • Portuguese/Etymological origin:
    • The name can also be linked to the word brasile, derived from the Old French word for a red dye made from the Brazilwood tree.
    • The wood was highly valued for its reddish dye, which resembled hot embers (brasa).
    • This origin points to a possible connection to the dyeing trade or a person who worked with this trade

Thank you @BellethehowtoGuru! How have you been? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :sparkling_heart:

That’s more or less what I could find, thank you for the detailed etymology. I love the red colour acception, but I guess the mixture of all of them is why it was chosen, as it is all beautiful :two_hearts:

Enjoyed spending time with Brazill over the weekend crafting. Maybe I am starting her mind to become a creative crafter also! Thank you @InkiteeWorkshop watching your videos had her intrigued so we just tried a little simple design and she ironed it on everything! She is so proud she showed her mom and haven’t stopped smiling yet! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
