Oh wow, what a lovely shadow box. Is this your own design if not where did you get it from please?

Love the colours you have used, the few pops of blue are eye catching and draws you in to see all the detailed faces. Very well done. How much do you sell your shadow boxes for? And what brand of cardstock do you use a what weight cardstock?

Sorry I have a lot of questions hahahaha.

Belle,

Thanks so much for your kind words. I really needed some encouragement today! What I love most about shadow boxes is that you can change out the color in one layer and it changes the whole shadow box. I actually try not to duplicate the same color combination when doing the same design. That ensures that each piece is unique and I number them on the back to help the buyer know where it falls in my list.

I pay for the license through a company (I will send you the name). My 8x8 shadow boxes sell for $40 each and I do very well at that price. I don’t have a specific brand of cardstock that I use, my main focus is on the weight. I try to only use 110lb (300 gsm) cardstock. I will on occasion use 90lb (250 gsm) cardstock for more color variations and options. I have used glitter cardstock and foil cardstock to accent some layers. This is usually about 65lb (175 gsm) and when I do this I always cut it twice and glue the layers together. My first top cut is usually the glitter or foil layer and my second bottom layer I glue to is usually a 110lb color that coordinates and blends in.

The heavier the cardstock the better in my opinion as that ensures any layer that is supposed to float, does so easily.

Please ask all the questions you would like.

Oh ok, yes I use the same weights in my card stock. I have been using the same brand of cardstock for awhile and it’s quite expensive now so I was looking for other brand recommendations.

I use Neenah, spell binders and sizzix cardstock. Then I use Kmart cardstock for design making because you can waste a lot through that process.

Thank you for all your information.
