What inspired this I Made Door Decor
Two weeks ago, I was in excruciating pain and had to schedule an emergency dental visit. When I arrived, I found out they didn’t accept my insurance — but instead of turning me away, Dr. Malcolm Walter Jr. gave me a generous 50% discount. I walked in hurting and anxious, but walked out feeling brand new — no lingering pain, no complications, just pure relief.
That kind of care deserved more than a thank-you. So I designed this door decal as a tribute.
I created the layout in Ideastudio, printed it using my Brother sublimation printer, and prepped the wooden plaque with an adhesive lamination sheet. After cleaning the surface, I pressed it at 390°F for 40 seconds, taped down the sublimation paper, and pressed again at the same temp and time. The result? A bright, bold, joyful piece that radiates appreciation. The hiccup that I had was that I had to press it twice when I pressed the other side. I also tried to print my logo on a tissue paper however there were all kind if streak marks going through them…
Seeing Mr. Walter smile and hearing him say I made him smile made my day. This isn’t just decor — it’s a moment of gratitude, captured in color and craftsmanship.
