DIY Project Sharing | Father's Day Capybara Easel

Father’s Day Kawaii Capybara Glasses Easel Holder

This adorable desk or bedside glasses holder is built around a kawaii-style capybara design, made with multiple layers of photo-quality printed paper and 0.5 mm cardstock. The capybara is tilted at a 7° angle and rests on a folded paperboard structure that works as an easel mechanism, allowing it to stand steadily.

The capybara’s nose is raised in 3D over a cylinder to support glasses securely. The glasses rest on the nose and ears, while two small slots hold the folded temples in place. It’s both cute and practical!

The back of the easel is decorated with printed paper featuring a bow tie pattern (shared inside to print as paper) - a repeating motif based on a bow from the Idea Studio library. This bow, shaped like two hearts, was the inspiration behind the whole design and also appears on the capybara’s ear as a hanging tag made from the ribbon element of the same asset. The tag includes a stencil-style cutout with the word Daddy’s, crafted from purple cardstock.

This design has gone through several test rounds to achieve a solid, balanced, and visually pleasing result. Once the adjustments are done, assembly is quite straightforward. It would also be a great project for the Loklik iEngraver or for cutting materials like balsa wood or leather.

A perfect Father’s Day gift. Sweet, useful, and full of charm!

Thank you girls, I’m glad you like it.

@InkiteeWorkshop so there you have it! Please feel free to use it, if that is possible, is it? If it is not and you want to try it, please just DM me <33

The important part, if you want to make it, is the easel mechanism, you can place your own design in front too. Just make it be sturdy so that it holds the glasses weight.

I’m still testing sharing function behaviour, and let’s see how its development evolves…
