A Lemon Inspired Sewing Session
I made these adorable lemon bloomers for my one-year-old granddaughter! I browsed through the LLiS Library and spotted the perfect lemon design. Since my HTV stash is a bit limited, I chose yellow and green, they looked so fresh on white cotton fabric.
I dropped the lemon onto the canvas, resized it, and removed the word “lemon” to make it more playful for a little one. Then I filled the canvas with the lemons to cover a full HTV sheet, this gave tonnes of lemons.
I cut the lemon sheet first then the green sheet and i have plenty left over for another project. I hand cut out around each lemon individually to place on the bloomers and heat set the lemons first then overlay the green dots and heat set again.
On the bloomers I added 10 lemons on the front and 10 on the back, arranging them to look like the fabric was pre-printed, it worked beautifully!
