This project is a minimal doodle-style design: a rolled-up paper tied with string, with the words MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE written on it. I applied the decal on the front of a beautiful rustic square glass bottle with thick glass and a cork stopper.
I originally wanted to place the decal on the back, mirrored, so the message would look like it was inside the bottle, reflected through the thick glass. The idea was to create a feeling of depth, like the roll was standing up inside, at a slight angle, leaning against the inner wall. But the glass turned out to be too rustic and thick for that effect to work clearly. So I changed the plan and placed it on the front, and I love how it turned out!
The rustic look of the bottle, combined with the playful design, gives it a lot of charm. I might save the depth illusion idea for a thinner or clearer bottle next time.
