Stop wasting material with off the mat cuts! In this quick iCraft tutorial, I show how to build a reusable Safe Zone template in LOKLiK IdeaStudio so your designs stay inside the true cuttable area. Works for vinyl and cardstock, prevents edge cuts, and speeds up layout across projects.
I have a guide of the cutting area in my Illustrator template for Idea Studio svg imports, and sometimes I do something similar in IS, but it was not as clear in my mind as it is now.
I’m working on a project that needs to fit in a 25x100cm htv roll, which is not the size I use, and it got me a little bit confussed. I will remember your tips while making the cuts, I’m sure this will help, so thank you for sharing!
Aw, thank you so much! @redhada I love that you already use a cutting area guide in Illustrator. I’m really glad the video helped clarify the Safe zone idea. Good luck with your longer project, can’t wait to see it! feel free to tag me when if you share it.
I have submitted feedback to Loklik asking for the the safe cut lines be visible in the design view.
Perhaps toggled on and off like the Print and cut Guide lines are.
