Dtf printer stopped printing

My DTF printer was printing fine then i didnt use it for about 2 weeks but it was left on. When i press clean in better app it sends waste ink to the waste ink bottle. There are no bubbles in the lines. But it still will not print.

Hi @allenaa2412,

Since the printer sat unused for about two weeks, the most likely issue is that the nozzles have dried at the tip or the white pigment has settled in the head. Even though the lines look full and the clean function sends ink to the waste bottle, that only shows the pump is working — it doesn’t guarantee the nozzles are actually spraying.

This usually just needs a deeper recovery clean after a long break. Once you run a nozzle check, we’ll be able to see which channels dropped and guide you through the right cleaning steps to get the ink flowing again.

How do i run a nozzle check? I have clicked the “check” button on better app.

1. Open the Better Printer app
Make sure the printer is connected and showing “Online.”

2. Tap the printer name
This opens the control panel for that specific machine.

3. Go to the “Maintenance” tab
It’s usually at the bottom or top depending on your version.

4. Tap “Nozzle Check”
It will print a small test pattern with CMYK + White blocks.

5. Look at the pattern

  • Full, solid blocks = good
  • Missing lines or gaps = clog
  • Blank white block = white isn’t firing
  • Blank everything = head is dried at the plate or ink isn’t reaching the head

Yes and it might need cleaner run through to unclog .

Yep, that’s where I was heading after the nozzle check.
