Just got my printer and can’t seem to get my computer to recognize the dongle or printer. Nothing pop’s up that would allow me to run a program. When I insert the dongle and printer, my computer makes a noise familiar with a flash drive being inserted, but nothing happens. I have tried everything. I’ve tried on two different computers. The printer shows up in devices, but I can’t do anything with them. Any advice?

Hi and welcome to the community @OurReg! Congrats on your new Loklik DTF printer—though I know it’s super frustrating when things don’t connect right out of the box. Here are some things you need to check with:

:jigsaw: 1. Check the Dongle First
Since your computer makes the “USB connected” sound, it’s detecting something, but it might not be installing the right drivers or launching the software. Try this:

• Open Device Manager and look for any yellow warning icons under “Universal Serial Bus controllers” or “Other Devices.”

• If you see anything suspicious, right-click and choose Update Driver → Search automatically.

• If nothing shows up, try unplugging the dongle and plugging it back in while watching Device Manager to see what changes.

:floppy_disk: 2. Install the Software Manually
The Loklik DTF printer usually comes with a USB drive or download link for the software. If nothing pops up:

• Open File Explorer and check if the dongle shows up as a drive. If it does, open it and look for an installer (like ).

• If it doesn’t show up, visit Loklik’s official website and download the software directly from their support page.

:printer: 3. Confirm the Printer Driver Is Installed
Even if the printer shows in Devices, it might not be fully functional.

• Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
• Click the printer name → Remove device, then unplug and replug it.
• If prompted, allow Windows to search for drivers—or install them manually from Loklik’s site (if available?).

:electric_plug: 4. Try Different USB Ports (and Skip Hubs)
Some DTF printers and dongles don’t play well with USB hubs. Try plugging directly into a USB 2.0 port on the back of a desktop or side of a laptop.

:soap: 5. Disable Antivirus Temporarily
Some antivirus programs block unsigned drivers or installers. Temporarily disable your antivirus (just for setup), then try again.

If none of these steps resolved the issue, I recommend reaching out to Contact Us – HTVRONT directly—they may need to provide you with a fresh copy of the software. It’s possible that the USB driver is corrupted or not installing correctly.

Unfortunately since my post in September, I worked with support for a few weeks. They finally had me ship it for repair.

It’s been in repair for more than 2 months. Every time I reach out they tell me something different. They did say the motherboard was out. It was replaced. Then, it hasn’t been fixed. Now, all o keep getting when I reach out it, wait. It’s going to be out of warranty soon.

I’ve only made one real print in addition to the test print.
