Easter egg hunt Tote bag by Marin

Come join me while I create this beautiful colourful easter egg hunt tote bag :hatching_chick:

As I received my Loklik Impress Auto 2 last week,
I wanted to do a project using it
So let’s see what we need to make this project

Materials

:small_blue_diamond:Laptop / Tablet / mobile
:small_blue_diamond:Idea studio
:small_blue_diamond:Loklik Icraft / crafter
:small_blue_diamond:Heat press
:small_blue_diamond:Colourful Htv
:small_blue_diamond:Sticky mat
:small_blue_diamond:Weeding tools
:small_blue_diamond:Heat resistant tape
:small_blue_diamond:Teflon sheet
:small_blue_diamond:Tote bag

Open your Idea studio and let’s get started
Search for Easter and choose the designs, I already have them saved in my favourites
And to add a cross just search for it too.

From the shape menu I chose a square to be my template area

I’ve sent it to the back and started adjusting my design

From the colour menu I chose the colour picker tool to change some of the colours as I wish

I wanted the base colour to be one piece (as it was 3)
So I duplicated the egg and took one and welded it all together.
The other egg I ungrouped it, deleted the blue parts, grouped the small parts together and put them over the solid coloured egg.

I wanted to make two more eggs for that design in different colours, so I duplicated it and changed the colours as I wish.

Now that the design has a lines of dots we need to unite every line together to make it cut in the right sizes.

After that I sorted every group of shapes with same colour together and grouped them.

I sorted the colours separately on the Canvas and matched them on the mat.
All should be at the same place which is a little bit tricky but you can do it.

Now let’s come to the Cut settings
I chose
:small_blue_diamond:Pure heat transfer vinyl
:small_blue_diamond:Glitter heat transfer vinyl
Of course don’t forget to mirror

Turn your lovely machine on and start the magic

After we cut all the parts needed successfully the Weeding will be very easy

We need our scissors from time to time and today it is needed to separate the shapes of the same colours

Turn on your Heat press and set the materials
I chose
:small_blue_diamond:Polyester Cotton
:small_blue_diamond:Pure heat transfer vinyl

Pre press the Tote bag for 5 seconds to remove the moisture and wrinkles.
Then I started placing the htv where I want it to be
(you may need to use heat resistant tape)

Cover the design with Teflon sheet

Now we press and as the Impress Auto 2 has a safety mode I need to make it start pressing by using my two hands.

After the time is finished peel off the transfer tape.

Now I started layering all the small cute parts and repeated the pressing process.

For the cross I was using Metallic htv and it should be left to the end coz too much heat will make it wrinkle.

Now that we have finished turn off the heat press and enjoy your beautiful creation

I hear you on that part. I appreciate this really! Like I said before, we spent more or less 2x of preparing the tutorial than the project itself :joy: (I noticed that in my part). Overall, totally worth it! Good job!

Lovely tote, I have had this tote bag project lined up for a while and the project itself isn’t such a hard job but the tutorial itself is, that being said my house renovations seem never to be ending and the thought of getting my machinery ruined with plaster /dust and paint just doesn’t sit right with me.

@IslaNoor.a Wow the Reno’s are still going. Hopefully not much longer so you can get back to crafting. We have all missed you here. I was actually thinking of you the other day and said I must send her a message and see how everything is going.

Yes unfortunately and we’ve ended up being in a financial loss and had the builders do a runner, absolutely gutted, left in total mess and a huge financial loss… all machines are packed away due to dust etc and didn’t want them being damaged as I couldn’t risk it. But I’m so so gutted I’ve been lacking here but my hands have been tied.

We’ve been sleeping on mattresses and was hoping it would of been finished by the end of the month but seems like it going to take even longer now
