Sometimes the best craft supplies aren’t found in a store — they’re hiding in plain sight. A jar becomes a pincushion. A cereal box becomes a stencil. A scrap of fabric becomes the start of something beautiful.
As makers, we see potential everywhere. Our homes are full of little treasures waiting to be transformed.
Today’s mission: What’s one everyday item you’ve repurposed into a craft project?
Did you turn something destined for the trash into a treasure?
Have you ever used a household item in a totally unexpected way?
Bonus if you share a photo or describe the process — I love seeing your creative twists!
Let’s celebrate the resourcefulness and imagination that make this community so inspiring. You don’t need fancy tools to make something amazing — just a little vision and a lot of heart.
Trash is my second name I think that for my house I’ve bought a dinning table, a bed and the kitchen counters, and even that, the kitchen furniture, I fixed them to fit with more wood imitating the bought pieces so you can imagine me crafting. People dump any kind of useful stuff.
I love this so much — you’re speaking my language! I have the hardest time throwing out perfectly good things. If it’s a sturdy jar, a clean container, or a piece of furniture with potential, it’s staying. I’ve got a stash of ‘future projects’ that started as someone else’s trash and now feel like treasure. Your kitchen fix sounds genius — I’d totally do the same! Makers like us see possibilities everywhere.
