🎨 Friday Fun | Precious Photos & Crafts

Hey crafty friends!
We all have that one photo, a moment so precious, meaningful, or unforgettable that we can’t help but treasure it. And sometimes, we turn those photos into beautiful keepsakes: a handmade frame, a photo puzzle, a keychain, a coaster, or a little craft that carries a memory. :sparkles:

This week, let’s share the memories behind those photos and the creative ways we’ve brought them to life. Whether it’s a photo that means the world to you, or a craft you made to preserve that moment, we’d love to see it.

Let’s share:

  • a precious photo that holds a special memory
  • a craft you made using a photo (frame, puzzle, keychain, coaster, etc.)
  • or a meaningful moment you turned into a keepsake
Anything warm, memorable, or creatively transformed — we’d love to see it. :yellow_heart:

I have shared this before but it’s worthy of a repeat. This is a picture of my granddaughters hands and feet. I cleaned up the background and sublimated it onto a ceramic blank. My daughter just had a little boy about 6 weeks ago and had already sent me a picture of his hands and feet so I can make the same things for him.

My first customized clock, made in honor of my son who was murdered on 6.22.2014, turned out beautifully. I’m part of a Facebook group where a young lady named Neeckatheteacher teaches us how to promote ourselves and make some extra easy money.

:sparkles: Back in December 2020, I created personalized Christmas pillows for all my in-laws. I printed their favorite photos onto printable fabric, framed each one with a stitched fringe of flannel, and then sewed them onto canvas pillow covers. To finish, I added matching piping cord and a cozy flannel backing. Every year, they bring out those pillows and place them on their couch—a tradition that reminds them of the love, time, and care I poured into making these keepsakes. It’s such a joy knowing those handmade pieces carry their memories year after year.:sparkles:

I also created Christmas cards and fridge magnets featuring more of their favorite photos, so everyone had a little keepsake to enjoy.

I had made this mug for my Aunt as a remembrance of the loss of her close brothers and my close uncles. We lost 2 within the same year.

Oh how I love this fun Friday!!! When I lost my mom Dec 16th 2024 it was by far my worst day imaginable! So I had started making a comfort blanket immediately after . It’s not finished yet because I had gotten sad and depressed the more I would work on it so I stopped and I had stopped crafting for several months after that. But here and there. But this past spring/summer I started getting back to creating and starting meeting very close friends within this very community that I now talk to on a daily and joining all the fun activities and motivated me and inspired me to get back to what I love and my most passionate hobbies! And I’m now ready to finish my beautiful blanket in reminiscing my very talented artistic artist of my mom . Miss her dearly but she now also inspires me just as much as this community has!
Blanket isn’t finished but I have great ideas now to finish!

Thank you! Miss her dearly! And the holidays approaching really has her on my mind so much! Thanksgiving especially was the last day we spent together. All the kids and myself and her had gotten sick . But that thanksgiving was the absolute best one we had ever! Cherish that day forever but makes me sad too. We booked the same exact Airbnb to host our thanksgiving in again to feel close to her . She will truly be missed there this year. But I will bring this blanket to display!

This is a picture of me and my oldest granddaughter taken at her basic training graduation from the Air Force. This was an extremely proud moment for our family.

These are the first crafts I did when I got my printer. I plan to, eventually, add some jewelry hardware and make necklaces out of them. They were done in memory of my 3 dogs, whom I lost all in a span of 3 years. Yesterday marked 2 years since my Brick passed (the one on the far left). Of course, I thought about him all day, and how he was just 5 days short of his 15th birthday. It was also just 3 days before my birthday. Needless to say, it was a very sad birthday for me. He had been with me the full 15 years, the other 2 were around the same age, and I had them for pretty much their whole lives, as well. I still have 2 babies from Brick and Gilda (middle). They’re now almost 13. I’m spending as much time with them as I can, because, sadly, they don’t live forever. It was nice to pull out these pieces to share with you all.

Everyone has some beautiful photo crafts on this thread! Keep creating, everyone! You’re all amazing at what you do! Have a lovely day!

My most precious photo craft is when I first made sublimation puzzle and it was successful from the first time I was very proud and cried from happiness.

Congratulations! I am an Air Force Mom. My son graduated during the COVID shutdown and we had to watch his graduation online. It haunts me to this day that I was not able to attend…
