I haunt the kitchen! This Halloween apron was designed to bring playful spookiness and handmade charm into the kitchen! I created it as part of the Halloween Crafting Event, blending bold seasonal colors, layered HTV, and a touch of humor to make a functional piece that’s also full of personality. It’s perfect for spooky season crafting or baking!
Materials: Cotton fabric, HTV (white, black, silver, holographic orange, and holographic yellow), sewing machine, heat press, “Ghouls Just Wanna Bake” SVG design by Judy Sanqunetti from the Loklik IdeaStudio library.
Why I made it: I wanted to create something that felt festive, functional, and a little bit cheeky. This apron reflects my love for seasonal crafting and my belief that even everyday items can carry joy, humor, and intentional design.
Thank you, @InkiteeWorkshop, for your kind words. I’m thrilled that you love it!
Thank you, as well, @Marino! Yes, that would have solved my problem of trying to find the right colors that would make it readable. I didn’t even think of that. I just used the design as it was, with the exception of the outline of the ghost, which was black. Definitely, next time, I’ll try to remember to create an offset. I guess, I should’ve asked for suggestions here before the final press. I really wanted to use my holographic vinyl and decided against using white for the text, but you’re right, a white offset would’ve solved the issue.
I love how you turned that spooky fabric into such a fun and stylish apron! And with those little ghost details from the library, it makes it stand out even more, so creative! I agree as well to use some offset to pop those letters…
Thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback. I’m definitely going to remember the offset next time. It certainly would’ve helped, and it would’ve taken less time to make, since I was caught up on color picking for 2 days. In the future, I’m going to ask for feedback from this community before I press. I just asked my husband, and he said it looked fine. Not much help there.
Thank you! He would’ve been cuter had I not missed the one little section above his left arm, our right, while weeding. I didn’t notice until after I’d already pressed it. I thought it was a little hair but soon realized it wasn’t.
