Happy Camper wooden sign

Here is my first attempt at working with basswood. Sign for my parents anniversary to go in their new RV.
Material- basswood 1/8 in. 11x 12 purchased in bulk off amazon.
Designs- clipart from creativefabrica.com
Disgined in Affinity Designer v2.
Cut on cricut maker 3.
Woodburned by hand with wood burning kit from Walmart.
So this one took me a bit to learn how to cut. I tried it a few different ways until i settled on the final one. I am still working on learning how to cut wood on my machine but can say get the 1/16TH in wood not the 1/8th or you will be cutting it the rest of way through by hand. Lol learning curve!

Wow this is really great. How long did your cutter take to cut the wood? I’m sure they are going to love this for their camper, how could they not. It’s got gnomes

Oh wow! I wish the loklik machines can do these as well. Though I do have a laser cutter too, it would be nice if we can do different materials in one machine.

This is a great peice you made there. It’s lovely what you’ve managed to achieve, but unfortunately this something one cannot recreate with a LOKLIK cutting machine. Maybe in the future one day maybe.

So on this one i cut the circle and it takes about 9 passes. And then for the design on this one i tried the engraving tool which you have to use the engraving setting for leather 6oz as there is not one for wood. And it worked fairly well. I think i probably set my pressure to high as the wood did splinter in some spots. So defenitly trying less pressure on the next one. For the time to engrave it took my maker 3 about 8 minutes due to the intricate designs.
I did try to do a full cut for the same design with a deep point blade and it took about 15 mins. And did 5 passes on it and it came out ok but the wood is tricky to work with to keep it from splintering

What blade did you use to cut and engrave on the wood? :pray:t2:

On the cut I used the black deep point blade and then the #41 engraving blade.

The maker has a lot of different attachments, I hope Loklik can already provide the Foiling and scoring tools then be able to add more

I’m pretty sure foiling is soon to come.
