It’s Thanksgiving for some that’s food and familly time. Sometimes that togetherness can be overwhelming. Take a breath and enjoy the chaos.
I like try not to over share but anxiety usually wins and I go on tangents usually talking about what I have made or what I would like to make when I am around more people.
When I was in the Navy I had lots of Friends givings and they were fun I mean I was a cook at one point in time so being a host was easy to me. Things are different since my second brain surgery in 2011 and I am ok with that most of the time. But thanksgiving is also the night I had my large stoke in 2008 with no memory of that night I am thankful to be who I am and honestly looking at me you can’t tell.
My husband and I have had our over fill of thanksgiving chaos but a funny story for y’all - I had been living in Colorado and he was training in Salt Lake City for archery, he drove o get me then the next day we went for the 20 hour drive to his home in Wisconsin. Well I don’t sleep in cars so we had both been up and at the time I had a service dog. So two people awake for longer then most are a yellow lab and just getting into Wisconsin we both heard the wrong lyrics on the radio till this day we still crack jokes about that song. That is the only year we had thanksgiving on the day cause his mom had a reason not to every other year so I started getting things for a small meal for us. For when plans fell flat. I prefer our small just us meal noting crazy thankful we are each others person. Yes we get invites but usually I don’t care to go.
I guess if anyone has actually read this be thankful for the memories you make be thankful for the bad and good it’s still a memory and it’s brought you here!
