For those of you who have the phone press how is it going so far? Is it worth purchasing just for phone covers badge and coasters? I mean it’s not really that big. I was hoping that I could at least fit a 20 cm slate in but that’s not possible. Is it worth purchasing because I’m about to do a big compose buy ? Honest opinions all pros and cons welcome please
my thoughts are, the H17 is designed predomently for phone cases, and the badges and coasters are like a bonus to do with it. I reckon you will be stretching it to do larger pieces at 20cm? if it’s 20x20cm i’d say no, if it’s 20x11cm wide 2cm thick, maybe? either way you may get odd pressing results from uneven pressure bc of it’s size. maybe better to look at other machines with a larger platen if you’re doing a lot of this size.
what do you think @rinsky
Hmmm that’s what I’m thinking I leaning to buy it for it to have more of a use than phone cases ( I go through lots of slates a month and that size too) I might just think twice about getting it and stick to my auto press ( would of been great if it did do 20cm size ) just as a back up if my big press broke
The great thing about this machine and also the main difference to other heat press machine is the vacuum seal, so you can sublimate around the corners. So, if you are looking at doing a lot of products that are small enough with rounded edges like phone cases, badges, coasters, dog tags etc. I think it’s a worthwhile investment. With slates though, the blanks I have don’t have the corners its just a flat surface so I would just do them in my LOKLIK Impress 2. I haven’t received mine yet, but I will do a full review when I do
@IslaNoor.a, @InkiteeWorkshop and @BellethehowtoGuru already shared great insights. The phone press is really designed for smaller items—phones, badges, coasters. With such a limited working area, I personally wouldn’t recommend it for slates, especially larger ones. Hopefully HTVRONT will release a future version with improved design and full 3D vacuum functionality!
