HTVRONT A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press: Skinny/Straight Heat Plate Review

Today I’m sharing the next step in my hands-on review of the HTVRONT A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press, this time using the skinny heat plate attachment on a 20 oz skinny glitter tumbler with a Valentine-themed sublimation design.

This review focuses specifically on performance and ease of use.

Before I jump into this review, I want to apologize for how late it is.

Between the busy holiday season, travel, and everything that comes with the end of the year, my schedule was already full. Unfortunately, I also got sick shortly after Christmas and wasn’t feeling well enough to focus on crafting, filming, or writing. I wanted to make sure I gave this review the time and attention it deserved, so thank you for your patience while I got back on my feet.

Setup & First Impressions

Swapping out the heat plate on the A200 is very straightforward. The skinny attachment fit securely, and the press powered on quickly. I set my time and temperature directly on the digital display, which is clear, responsive, and easy to read.

For this project:

  • Tumbler: 20 oz skinny glitter tumbler
  • Design: Valentine-themed sublimation print
  • Wrap: Sublimation paper secured with heat-resistant tape
  • Press: HTVRONT A200 with skinny heat plate attachment

I appreciate that the A200 automatically applies even pressure once the tumbler is inserted. The HTVRONT website has a great guide for time, temperature, and pressure based on the material you are pressing.

A200 Heat Press Guide

Heat Press Settings & Pressing Process

For this project, I set the HTVRONT A200 to 390°F with a pressure of 120 lbs and a press time of 120 seconds. After the first press cycle was completed, I carefully removed the tumbler, rotated it halfway, and pressed it again for an additional 120 seconds. This two-step rotation helped ensure even heat distribution around the entire tumbler. Now I am not sure this step was necessary. As this was my very first press with this machine, I would love feedback about successful settings and pressing times.

Once the tumbler was taped and placed into the press, the machine did exactly what it’s designed to do, press with consistent heat and pressure from top to bottom. The auto-closing feature worked smoothly, and I didn’t notice any shifting during the press cycle.

The press ran quietly and evenly, and the countdown timer made it easy to stay on track. From a usability standpoint, this machine is very beginner-friendly while still being efficient enough for experienced crafters.

Final Result

The A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press delivered consistent heat and pressure throughout the entire press cycle, resulting in a smooth and even sublimation transfer. Throughout the process, the A200 maintained stable temperature and reliable performance, which is especially important when working with specialty surfaces like glitter tumblers. The press handled the project exactly as expected, producing a uniform transfer that reflects the machine’s ability to deliver dependable, repeatable results across different tumbler styles and finishes.

How the A200 Fits Into My Workflow

The HTVRONT A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press is a great option for crafters who work with a variety of tumbler sizes. With its interchangeable heat plate system, it’s designed to handle everything from skinny tumblers to larger formats with consistent heat and pressure.

Where the A200 really stands out is its ability to accommodate bigger tumblers, such as 30 oz and 40 oz curved styles, which can be challenging to press evenly with standard tumbler presses. The ability to make pressure adjustments makes it a solid choice for makers who frequently switch between projects. If your crafting includes a mix of tumbler sizes, especially larger or curved tumblers, the A200 is a versatile and reliable press that fits well into a multi-tumbler workflow.

What I’m Most Excited About Next

The part of this review process I’m most excited about is testing the curved heat plate attachment on a 40 oz curved tumbler. This is where I believe the A200 will truly stand out and justify its place alongside my other presses.

Video Tutorials

I also created a TikTok tutorial video that walks through:

  • Design size
  • Taping
  • Heat plate setup
  • Machine settings
  • Pressing process
  • Final reveal

Because of upload limits, the video will be broken into multiple parts, but together they show my full process step-by-step. I’ll upload those videos below for anyone who prefers to learn visually (because I definitely do!).

Final Thoughts

The HTVRONT A200 Auto Tumbler Heat Press is a well-built, thoughtfully designed machine. While my 20 oz glitter tumbler wasn’t my favorite finished piece, the issue was more about design choice than machine performance.

If you:

  • Regularly make tumblers larger than 20 oz
  • Want an auto press with interchangeable heat plates
  • Prefer consistent, hands-off pressure

…then the A200 is a great addition to your craft room.

Stay tuned, the 40 oz curved tumbler test is coming next, and I can’t wait to share those results!

You did such a fantastic job walking through this next stage of your A200 testing. I really appreciate how detailed and honest your review is—especially with everything you had going on over the holidays and then getting sick. It’s clear you took the time to give this machine a fair, thoughtful evaluation.

And the TikTok tutorial series is such a great addition for visual learners like me. You always make the process feel approachable and doable.

Can’t wait to see the next round of testing

Thank you so much @BellethehowtoGuru, I really appreciate that. I’m feeling very remorseful for how long this part of the review took. Circumstances were out of my control but that doesn’t change that am so sorry and I really hope this delay doesn’t reflect negatively on my integrity or commitment. I love this community and really wanted to give this review the care and attention it deserved. I am a hands-on, visual learner too and hoping the videos help to deliver a thorough look inside how the A200 works. It’s no easy task to split the video up, but it’s definitely doable.

Unfortunately sometimes life happens. I felt the same when life got to real at the end of last year. Something had to give, for me to get through it, well a lot of things had to be put on the back burner unfortunately and one of those was this lovely community. I was so nervous coming back and being part of the hussle and bussle again but everyone welcomed me back with open arms. If it happens in the future just keep the head honchos informed like Olivia, Elena and Jodie of what’s going on. Sometimes it’s just the way it goes. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is an excellent and very well thought out review. You can really tell you took the time to not only use the A200 with the straight tumbler heat plate, but to document the entire process in a way that’s helpful for others at different skill levels. The structure is clear, easy to follow, and balances personal experience with practical, usable information.

I especially appreciate how transparent you were about this being your first press with the machine. Calling that out and inviting feedback on settings makes the review feel honest and approachable, which is incredibly valuable for newer users who may be feeling unsure on their own first run. Your explanation of the setup, settings, and pressing process was detailed without being overwhelming, and the inclusion of photos at each step really helps visualize what’s happening inside the press.

Your notes on even pressure, consistent heat, and how quietly the machine runs are great callouts. Those are things people often don’t realize they care about until they’re using a press regularly, and you highlighted them well. I also liked how you acknowledged that the two step rotation may not have been necessary and framed it as part of the learning process. That kind of reflection is exactly what makes hands on reviews so helpful.

Overall, this was a strong, thorough, and thoughtfully written review. Fantastic job documenting both the technical performance and how the A200 fits into your real workflow. I’m really looking forward to seeing your results with the 40 oz curved tumbler next.
