I don’t think it’s any thing like that because it only happens on images- honestly I think it’s a bug in the software as far as engraving, an image and then cutting or engraving non-images.

Appreciate the follow‑up! Have you had a chance to try it again to confirm whether this bug is what’s causing the issue?

I’m not sure how I can troubleshoot- I don’t and won’t have LB access…

Oh, I just saw this. I am wondering if you have tried the 30-day free trial for Lightburn software that came with your machine?

I’m sorry, I’ve had this machine for over a month now and I cannot for the life of me find a video explaining how to choose and differentiate layers for proper engraving and cutting, I only plan to use the native IdeaStudio. Is there anyone who has time to really help me ‘get it’? Once I get there I am sure I could catch on but I just CAN’T yet…please take pity on me~! thank you

Hi and welcome to the community, @muzikgirl2000! I’m glad you’re here.

Have you had a chance to try engraving or cutting any materials in IdeaStudio with your iEngrave machine yet? On page 12 of the iEngrave Cover Machine User Manual, you’ll find a helpful list of materials that are compatible with the machine.

Once you select a material inside IdeaStudio while connected to your iEngrave, the software will automatically show you the default or recommended settings for that specific material. It’s a great starting point when you’re learning what works best.

If you’d like some visual guidance, I also have engraving and cutting tutorials on my YouTube channel, and you can browse a few of my iEngrave projects under the Inspiration category in the community (just search “iEngrave” once you’re there). Feel free to use them as reference as you get started.

thanks so much for your quick reply. I’ve looked at the videos but still…I don’t understand how to see or set any object to line, fill or cut. Can you find or show me some web page for EXACTLY that? For example I did try a rooster image that was in there, once it came out cut with little holes (the design) cut as well, the next time it only came out cut to the shape…if you know what I mean. The user manual that came with this had plenty of details on how to use it with LightBurn or LaserGRBL but not the native IdeaStudio…when I wrote they sent me a short, NOT helpful video. I have looked and looked!! Maybe I need a one on one tutor!! How can I find such a unicorn? please and thank you.
