Hi, I have had the LokLik impress auto 2 for just under 13 months, it has been used regularly (maybe twice a week) but is in pristine condition and only been used for sublimating ceramic baubles and coasters. Last week (so just out of warrenty) the heat plate has stopped moving (usually it moves into the “ready” position when plugged in) it is stuck about 0.5cm above the cushion and won’t move at all. Everything else works (led lights, screen opens, plate heats up) but the machine is unusable now and although I’ve contacted support they are not able to help.
Hi, @racheleaton2011. Welcome to the community. It looks like the lift mechanism inside the machine has stopped moving, and that’s not something a user can repair from the outside. I know how frustrating it is when something fails right after the warranty ends — especially when you’ve taken good care of it. Loklik is usually very strict about their warranty window, so I don’t want to give you false hope, but it may still be worth asking support if they can escalate it. I’m really sorry this happened, especially since the rest of the machine is still working. I hope they can do something to help you. Maybe, @OliviaZzz can help. Wishing you all the best.
Thanks so much for replying, it is really frustrating especially as I’ve been really happy with the machine up to now. Do you know whether this is a known problem with this particular machine? - Loklik have offered a discount if I buy another one but I’m not sure whether to go for a different model as I don’t want to have the same issue. Thanks again
No problem. I’m happy to help as best I can. I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed the machine up until now — that makes this kind of issue even more discouraging. It isn’t something that happens to everyone, but it does pop up from time to time.
Wear and tear can cause this kind of issue to show up after a year, but there are also plenty of people who continue using their AutoImpress well beyond the warranty period without any problems.
With each new model they release, they usually make small improvements based on what they’ve learned from the previous versions, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering a different model. The HTVRONT Auto Heat Press 2 is the latest version and isn’t built the same as the Loklik AutoImpress 2. So you may have a better experience with it.
If you do decide to go with a new model, the one reassuring part is that you’d be fully covered again under the warranty. So if anything were to happen during that period, they would repair or replace it. I just wish this one hadn’t failed right after yours expired.
Thanks again, I will contact support and see what can be done. Very much looking forward to getting back to printing! x
You’re very welcome! I really hope support is able to help and that you’re back to creating again soon. It’s always the worst when something interrupts your flow, so I’m wishing you the best with the next steps.
