My son 9 prefers cats because when he was around 4 or 5 years old, he got slightly bitten by our dog that recently gave birth. Thankfully it was not that deep since it was like a warning bite but he got traumatized by that experience. He’s adjusting gradually to liking dogs but still prefers cats. His brother who is 5 also likes cats because he copies his brother
My kids love squirrels. They like to play around with them, as the squirrels hide behind the trees, and they chase them around the trunk of it, playing hide and seek. They don’t care too much for cats, as they like to chase them out of the yard and up trees. My kids also love dogs, as they’re 14 year old dogs, themselves.
I don’t have kids yet but my niece (8) and my nephew (10) both love dogs. My niece had 4 shitzu’s and my nephew has a dog (don’t know the breed) and we have 2 frenchies that they both love. Here’s a photo of my niece with our frenchie (both asleep in the car) while holding hands.
My kids love dogs and cats! We have only our two cats because we aren’t allowed to have a dog currently in our rental, but once we do get moved into our cabin/house after it’s renovated hopefully next year, we will get them their new pup to grow with!
My girls loved our Border Collie most and for my son it was our German Shepherd/Husky Mix. He looked like a white wolf. My granddaughter hasn’t been around many dogs but loves ducks/geese.
I’m raising my granddaughter and she loves ALL animals but her favorite is cats. She has a grey domestic short hair right now that follows her around like a dog . Him and his sister showed up at our house 4 years ago and we took them in.
We have had so many different types of animals as pets. Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Lizards, Snakes. I am totally a dog person but out of all the pets we have had my kids gravitated towards the cats more than any other. When we moved interstate and had to stay in a hotel, they all missed the cats the most.
